First the rant: Clickstamp (internet postage) doesn't work with IE 5.5 or 6.x. They have been saying it will be fixed soon which apparenltly means within 2 years.

I reverted back from 6.0 to 5.5 but with 5.5 I have no option to revert to 5.01. When I try to install IE 5.01 from the Microsoft site, it stops saying it won't install over a newer IE.

Please tell me I don't have to keep paying a monthly fee for a clickstamp service I can't use (don't want to cancel because of a year end bonus I've earned) OR reinstall Wiondows just to go back to IE 5.01. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there a way to trick IE 5.01 install into NOT seeing 5.5?

what os? if it is WinMe - do a system restore, if it is win98- just install over what you got, it should keep all the programs and setup, but overwrite explorer. Also, I would call Clickstamp and bitch and make hem refund the fee, untill they fix the bug (even if you make it back to Explorer 5.1).

Alyosha, I should have said the OS, Its Win2K Pro. So how to revert back from IE 5.5 to 5.01 in Win2K?

I haven't got too far with Clickstamp. Those jerks are blaming Microsoft! Funny how Clickstamp is going to fix it though. How long has IE 5.5 been out. Another thing that pisses me off is they obviously know about this at least 6 months ago and don't warn their customers.

Hi Hoosier,

Here's a nice Linky to a MS Knowledge base article that explains how to uninstall IE 5.5.

Good luck! ;)

Hi Khtm,

I was positive that was the answer. Unfortunately, for Win2K and IE 5.5, it only says to go to add/remove progams and uninstall from there. It has a procedure for IF IE 5.5 doesn't appear in add/remove progams but for me it does. It has a procedure for running the unistall directly if IE 5.5 doesn't show in add/remove but that's not my situation and the program to run isn't there anyway :-(
