Yea those vtec valve covers add about 50 hp, you could rave a mustang with that thing if you put an obnoxious fart can on it

OMG, man I was just saying tahts what on it, i dont know anything about the motor in it, I bought it because it was dirt cheap and so i could have something to drive while i fixed up my msutang.

Other than that, I'd recommend saving your $$ for the Mustang. Your Civic should stay as a reliable daily driver.

IMHO of course...

Just adding a roots supercharger should not really affect its reliability as long as I keep the boost down. Im not worried about the money either. I have plenty of money to fix my mustang up, elsewise I would not be thinking about doing something to this effect to the honda.

I have some suspension work done, and wheels on it, it handles like a dream compared to how it used to, corners great..

BCYL I just saw that supercharger, 2 grand is a nice price too. I would like to get somewhere around 200 wheel HP outta it, the dyno sheet from that site says 147 with stock engine witht eh supercharger, so maybe with exhaust and headers some other misc stuff i could come close.....

It will be real tough to get 200whp, even with header, intake and full exhaust + the supercharger...

If you really want 200whp, turbo would be the better option since you can turn up the boost (but too much you will blow your engine)

Yea I know it would be hard, i would probally jsut do the supercharger, and maybe later exhaust possibly.

Another thing to keep in mind is your gas mileage will suffer from this, plus you will need to buy 92 octane gas from now on

Not an issue imo, IO drive 15 miles to work each way, so I dont have any drive at all hardly, the other places I go are errands for me around town and stuff I want to do so I dont care aobut gas mileage for that really because Im doing something I want.

I didnt ask anyone why I should or shouldnt do this :p I was asking for ideas.,

yeah I know, I just had to say something though, I can't stand those ricers that think vtec is the be-all-and-end-all power adder. Your mustang sounds like its going to sweet when you get it running.

Then the Jackson Racing Supercharger will be your best bet... They have been making these supercharger kits for many years, and a lot of people swear by them... from what I read it's real easy to install too, and the kit is complete (no extra parts needed)

That's because they're RWD and are balanced well, not because they are FWD commuter cars with the suspension and wheels swapped out.

It's not worth the money to put FI on your car.
In order to put FI in your car you're going to have to upgrade many of the systems around it. It's no small undertaking.

I didnt say my car handled like a miata with suspension work and wheels. I said it handled alot better than it did. For what it is it handles the curves like a dream compared to how it did.

With a low boost blower, nothing else will need to be added if the kit comes complete.....maybe a tune will be required though.

OP, are turbo's out of the question?

Then go to a honda forum where the entire damned community knows what to tell you. Instead you go on a computer hardware forum where half the posts will be hearsay, half of them will be off topic and the 3rd half will have information you could dig up in 10 seconds with google.

I guess if he runs something like 8psi. But even then he is going to need to do more than just bolt it on and go. You know that will result in disaster.
Although, that might be a good thread in the future. :D

IIRC the stock supercharger kit is 6psi, but there are pulleys out there to increase that to 8-10psi

$2000 is exspensive? And Datt. I would really like to go with a supercharger is possible because this still is going to be a dd, and some turbos can have stability issues as far when teh weather condidtions change from what I understand.

Sampson, What exactly and I going to have do do other than install it? Its a 6-8 hour install, nothing else is needed. I would probally put 1 ranger colder spark plug, and a different thermostat. And probally replaced the fuel pump.... Those are all SIMPLE things.

I prefer superchargers as well, I was just asking.

<---had a supercharged thunderbird (3.8L V6 w/13psi of boost) was also a roots style. Eaton M-90 to be exact.

i'd imagine you'll need ecu tuning to get a good a/f ratio?

Yea the M90 is a versitile little thing :p, Aftermarket wise people put them on all kinds of things. I have seen fieros, Mustangs, and many other things with M90's on them,

:p Yea and I would perfer paying a little more and getting it in a kit, because my time is very important to me an I dont have time to build up a kit and make sure everything is right and trouble shoot it if something doesnt fit right.
