OK first off before the flames start I just want to say I am totally against ricing a vehicle out. I just want to add some power to my honda so its not so boring to drive. And I dont want to do the coffee cans and stuff.........

I have a 95 Honda Civic EX. I belive its the 1.6 L but im not positive, I havent looked and really havent cared until now.

I want to add a turbo/supercharger. Sometime to boost its power a little. Anyone personally know of any good kits? i think they make a jackson racing roots style supercharger, that would be pretty neat if they make it for my model.

If someone knows where I can get more info lmk,
Josh

DONT TELL ME TO BUY A V8 EITHER! OR A REAL CAR. I have a 92 Mustang that I am fixing up I just want the Honda to be more fun to drive on a daily basis.

JacksonRacing has a good Supercharger kit for your car, very reliable and good power...

If you want a car that's not so boring to drive - do some suspension mods and make the handling better. The funnest driving cars in the world don't have huge amounts of horsepower (Mazda MX-5, Lotus Elise), but their handling is what makes them exciting.

They make anything for those cars. I am sure there are eleventy billion options for a 95 civic, the most commonly done up car on the planet..... I'd suggest going with a Supercharger over a turbo for everyday commutes.. I am positive they make them for the non-VTEC engines, I've seen a 93 hatch with a SOHC engine supercharged.

If you want some real power, sell it & buy a car which has it. I'd recommend keeping it though, Civics are nice, economical and reliable cars. Going fast is overrated and usually stupid.

It's not how you post on OT about your car, it's how you race your car. You betta learn that.

A turbo or supercharger kit is going to cost $2500-$4000. That's as much as the car is worth.

better idea: keep the Honda as a reliable daily driver, buy a $500 muscle car with a V8, get some cheap mods on it to make it wicked fast.

a 1.6 L engine is not worth doing anything to at all short of strapping a coffee can on the rear.

I have some suspension work done, and wheels on it, it handles like a dream compared to how it used to, corners great..

BCYL I just saw that supercharger, 2 grand is a nice price too. I would like to get somewhere around 200 wheel HP outta it, the dyno sheet from that site says 147 with stock engine witht eh supercharger, so maybe with exhaust and headers some other misc stuff i could come close.....

I have a Vtec in it..... Or at least it has the VTEC valve covers.

Sell it and buy something faster.

Simply not worth the time and money, you'd spend more on an induction system than the car is worth.

You're playing with fire when it comes to engine reliability, though...remember, good, cheap, and fast; pick two.

It will be real tough to get 200whp, even with header, intake and full exhaust + the supercharger...

If you really want 200whp, turbo would be the better option since you can turn up the boost (but too much you will blow your engine)

Yea those vtec valve covers add about 50 hp, you could race a mustang with that thing if you put an obnoxious fart can on it

Yea I know it would be hard, i would probally jsut do the supercharger, and maybe later exhaust possibly.

Honestly, the only Hondas really worth messing with are the old early 90's CRX's. Get one of those and swap in one of those newer high reving B18 engines and you are on your way to building a fast and inexpensive road course warrior. Other than that, I'd recommend saving your $$ for the Mustang. Your Civic should stay as a reliable daily driver.

IMHO of course...

Another thing to keep in mind is your gas mileage will suffer from this, plus you will need to buy 92 octane gas from now on
