Yeah, but that seems to be kind of random and completely out of your control.

I don't know if this was a decision just to keep the Apprentice from being an even bigger unstoppable juggernaut than he already is but it just doesn't feel right. How many movies and cartoons have we seen of Jedi walking and running while blocking shots with their lightsabers? Now we have a Sith who is having his power jacked up to artificially ridiculous levels and he's stuck in one place anytime you hit the block button?

Yikes--I didn't even realize that. Man, what's up with that? I seem to remember previous games doing this because I thought it looked so cool.

What an odd design decision.

I thought the demo was pretty fun overall. :) The potentiol is there to have great fun if they can keep it interesting.

The Dark Forces game (was it Outcast?) where Force Grip was a huge part of the game was so awesome, and I feel like this game (if done correctly) could build up on that really well.

We'll see...

Ditto, the demo was fun. Not amazing, but fun. I do have high hopes for the game though. The video that ran after the demo was over made it look like you can build up a lot of sweet abilities. That demo level was pretty limited on the powers you have, so I don't think it truly representative of the entire game. I'll definitely pick it up.

The game is a rental for sure, no way would I spend 60 on it. The game plays real smooth and the controls are good, the sound as well. But the light saber might as well be a wooden sword as weak and useless as it is, and the physics and level interaction is hit and miss.

You do realize of course that Soul Calibur is a one on one fighting game right? Just because they threw the apprentice in SC4 doesn't mean it's the same game.

Yeah, I was disappointed by the lack of limb hacking. You can cut droids in half, but humanoids you can't? Gotta be a ratings thing, but it sucks. Screw the puritans in this country, let me cut stormtroopers in half. If ObiWan can go into bars and start lopping off arms, then a Sith Lord damn well better do some slicing and dicing.

I played once through on easy and didn't die. The AI is pathetic.

Hmm ... the easy mode is easy ... shocker.

roflmao...this made me laugh

Yeah, yeah. I didn't mean for those two separate sentences to sound like they were part of the same thought. They aren't. They're just two observations after playing through the demo once. I'm going to try the demo again tonight.

Just played through the demo again and the most difficult level is still easy. I don't see this game being very challenging.

Played it. I thought targeting objects for force grip was really unreliable. Very frustrating when there are guys shooting at you from all sides. I did like the lightsaber combat, for the most part... it was frustrating how the lightsaber acts more like a blunt weapon and you have to smack people over and over again to kill them, but the combos were nice, as was the force lightning. Like every single other game ever, the force lightning drains your force powers WAY too fast and doesn't do enough damage. The main thing was that doing combos involving force powers and force lightning was very effective and didn't seem to drain my force power so that was good.

Another cool thing - yes, one of the TIE Fighters crashing might be scripted, but you can kill more if you force push those big support beams out into the area where they fly. They'll run into them and blow up.

I'm still a bit disappointed, though. There are some good aspects and some bad ones. The blocking is stupid and didn't work nearly as well as, say, Jedi Knight II (which came out 6 years ago). In that game, you'd automatically block nearby blaster shots, but you weren't perfect. You could block while moving as well. TFU's system of forcing you to both stand still and simply spin your blade around indiscriminately while all blaster shots are magically deflected seems very old-fashioned and lazy.

Lastly, what's with that stupid-ass lightsaber stance? Christ, this guy just oozes emo.

I know, I actually enjoyed the demo - I was just commenting on how the moves are very similar :)

Outside of the force grip taking time to get used to, and the throwing aspect that has a mind of its own (targeting? pshh, yeah right), the demo was pretty good for me.

Had I not read about how to kill the walker, I would have died so many times trying to figure it out. I threw boxes at it from far away (get close, and it kills you insanely fast), and then went up for the finishing move (GoW style...). Not my idea of a very good boss fight by any means.

The game does have potential, though. If it gets good reviews, I'm likely picking it up.

I liked the demo outside of the boss battle. That whole sequence was pretty lame and unimmersive. I just chucked crap at it until I could trigger the sequence. Boring.

The walker has two lasers, one for long distance, and a smaller laser for short distance. The long distance laser is not blockable but the short distance laser is blockable so I just got close to him used block and when the walker was reloading I would keep force pushing it. I enjoyed the demo, I am curious to see how powerfull you can get the powers and what you can do as you progress, also some of the later levels seem to have much cooler environments. I think I will buy this if it gets good reviews.

Yeah, I really dislike boss battles like the one in the demo. It totally takes the player out of the game. Playing 'simon says' with the A, B, X and Y buttons is no fun. I want a boss battle to have a health bar for the boss and to be able to wear it down over a few minutes time. Just getting into range and triggering a game of 'simon says' is no fun.

Finally got around to playing the demo. I should preface this with saying that I've never cared for the Star Wars universe or the movies whatsoever. However, the demo was actually pretty fun. I didn't really have a problem with the controls like some of you, plus since I don't care about the universe and it's rules with lightsabers, I didn't care that enemies weren't cut in half. The graphics looked much better than I thought they would, the controls were actually good IMO, the physics seemed pretty good as well. If this gets good reviews, I could actually see myself possibly buying this.

I finally played this as well, and did have trouble with the controls. I think part of the issue is I need more time to acclimate myself with them, but I also think that it was hard to be very precise when moving things/people around with the force. It seemed too awkward. Overall I don't really have any strong feelings towards this game, and didn't really progress too far through the demo before stopping.

The game felt like endlessly wacking enemies with a stick. Guess I'm not a fan of this type of game.

It looked nice and ran smoothly though.
