For young adults, how do you plan to live your life?

It seems that the big talk in college is to get into the job market. I've always felt if you want to make it big in this world, that you're going to have to be an entrepreneure. My plan in life was always to start my own company, and it might be coming true, and i would happily drop out of college to work on my own. I always felt that I needed real world experience first, and then after many years i would be able to go off on my own, but now I don't even think that I would want to work for anyone.... I dunno we'll see what the future holds..

So how are you living/going to live your life?

Work for someone else for a while in a field that you are interested in. Learn what they did right. Learn what they did wrong. Gain experience in that respective field. Build up some capital to open. Then consider starting your own.

Just my humble opinion. And what I plan to do.

1) Finish up university (already close to this goal)
2) Take so-so job and use spare time to put together new online venture
3) Take extended vacation in Europe with money from so-so job
4) Return refreshed and ready to begin a career
5) ???
6) Profit!

how about we hire you to go after osama. How much?

Got done with three years of college. Just lost any interest in it I guess.

I was offered a permanent job in sys admin for state government. (old part time job)

Now working full time at the family biz in a non-technical role.

-Graduate (last semester as an undergrad)
-Go to grad school (really, it's just an excuse so I can stay here and train with Si-fu here)
. . ..

😕

I'm going to college, but I don't plan on starting my own business necessarily. Get into my desired field and get into a stable position that allows for advancement and is enjoyable.

That's what I'd like I guess.

I guess what I'm saying is people like stability, but you can make so much more out of yourself by taking chances. I really wouldnt mind a stable, decent paying job, but i know I can't let myself live like that forever.

I graduate med school in 5 months. After I finish anesthesia residency, I'll be making F*** loads of money. Then, I plan to buy the phattest sports car I can find and do lawn donuts in front of the trailers of certain people from my past....

1)take many women to bed
2)get job in medical field
3)go back to school (I dopped out)
4)take more women
5)get cooler job
6)profit

My face on the front of every American newspaper afterwards. The fame and fortune will follow on their own. 😀

Sounds like a great plan! 😀

unless you're rich to begin with, my guess is it's hard to start a company without having some years experience in the field. correct me if i'm wrong, but i can't see why a bank would give you a loan if you have no proven ability to perform in the field.

I'm thinking about doing the military (officer in marine corps) thing for 20 years and retire with pension at 41-45ish then start my own business / dabble in securities.

I think about starting my own business, but then I think about how I like to take vacations and sit on the beach all weekend without getting a phone call or worrying that my hired help is robbing me blind.....maybe someday if I find something I think would work....
