I completely agree. I always tip at least 15% unless the service was awful, in which case I talk to a manager rather than vent by leaving a tiny tip. No reason future customers should have to put up with an idiot server. Besides, tipping well = preferential service at most places if you're a "regular". Always nice to get a table or beer promptly even when the place is slammed.Originally posted by: Beast1284
what a dick... if your not going to tip in dollar amounts, whats the point.
IMO, it is an insult to leave change.

Once when I was in a restaurent, we had to wait 1/2 hour for the waitress and another hour for the order to arrive. The waitress didnt even bother coming around to ask how things were going. We each left one cent of change. Its not 0% but its very insulting and IMO she deserved it :|

To me, leaving a small tip of a few cents is more "meaningful" than leaving no tip at all. If I have completely terrible service then leaving a tip of dime or a quarter is to me, the best of voicing my dissatisfaction.
As for this guy, he's just an idiot. In Iowa, carrying a handgun, licensed or not, into a bar is a MAJOR no-no. Even if it isn't drawn/used.
And just why is that? What's the purpose of a conceiled handgun license if you can't use it?

Because alcohol + guns is BAAAAAD mmmmmmmkay. Way to much "heat of the moment" incidents - like this occur.

It's an insult to EXPECT me to give you money. You give me good service, I'll decide whether to give you my hard earned money or not - something that is extra, that's not on my bill. If you need more money from a job, get another job.

If I said the sky was blue, you would say it was black just for the sake of argument. STFU.

SEE WHAT I MEAN! jesus
Well, I don't always go into bars to drink, either. And a colt .45 under my arm and one beer down the hatch isn't a problem. When I decide that I'm going to get drunk off my ass or drink more than a few, I would agree that a sidearm is a bad idea.
I wasn't there so I can't say you did the wrong thing, but sometimes it's not the fault of the waitress if you get poor service. Some managers are real pricks and won't schedule enough waitresses.Originally posted by: GoodToGo
