AC130 video

This is footage from a AC130 mission in Afganistan. the smaller explosions are from the smaller 40mm howitzers, the larger are from the 105mm howitzer.
 
mounting a 4 inch gun in an airplane is a pretty darn good idea, if i say so myself.
 
Gunships sure have come a long way since the AC-47 "Puffs" during Vietnam. DAMN would hate to be on the recieving end of that!
 
Fascinating, but still kind of disturbing when you remember it?s real people getting blown up. I wonder if they even knew what was coming or where it was coming from. Kind of reminds me of Missile Command.

OK< I'm not gonna feel sorry for anyone on that video cause these are TERRORISTS. It's not like they flew the plane down Main St. USA and started blowing people up for no reason.

Yes, but a Howitzer doesn't fire those rounds at several thousand per minute.

Talk about Wow Factor, I'll never forget my first one shot steel-on-steel call. We were doing some live fire training and I was given a target that was a rusted out half-track pretty far down range. I got on my laser range finder and radioed back coordinates. Within a few seconds, I heard the fire of the cannon, found the target in my binoculars expecting to have to make a correction, and was greeted with a direct hit sending sparks and flames.

Now that's satisfaction. 😀

the things we can do with technology is amazing with every new stuff we come up with, just sucks that so much of it is used for war
