Wow. One of the earliest memories I have is when I was about two or so, and we went out to dinner and my mom got fried shrimp and I tried them. Still one of my favorite things...

Is it the "looks like some kind of bug" thing that has kept you from trying it?

They have one of those (dead) in a case in one of the buildings at school.
That thing is fricken scary! I don't think you really get a good idea of just how big it is by that picture you posted.
I was going to post this picture, which shows its size better, but I thought too many people would think I was wondering how Japanese people tasted. ;)

It's all about the Blue crab. greatest of them all (if properly cooked).

Dungeness for sure. I catch them regularly using the traps I make off the pier here in Pacifica. I catch a lot of rock and stone crabs too but throw them back since they are not worth the effort to cook them.

Snow. Love that smooth, sweet flavor. Don't care for king crab. Lots of meat, but it's kind of bland and dry. Dungeoness isn't too bad. Love going down south and sucking down a plate of blue crabs (you eat those whole :) ).

Yeah, I'm a crab freak Xtreme :)

Think I saw one of those at the Aquarium of the Pacific a few years back. Those things are huge! But totally awesome :D

the kind they would put into the Subway Seafood n Crab if they put real crab in it

they of course put imitation crab meat in that sandwich, but if it had real crab meat , that would be nice and tasty

The last time I was in DC on business I ate a ton of seafood at Phillips Seafood restaurant. The seasoned blue crab they have in the buffet are to die for.

Nope...I've just never had it...I'm reluctant to for some reason, and I'm not quite sure why.
