It does look pretty sweet. I just worry about the rest of the stuff needed to make it work properly... I'd hate to also try to make it look "cool". I'm terrible at that stuff because I'm a true radio-shack junkie that would leave loops of wire and electrical tape all over the passenger seat just to listen to my tunes. :p

I think that's a much better idea...this thing is cool if you want to customize something, but it has some severe limitations, such as the firmware's ability to recognize lots of subdirectories (only 47 max), the size of this thing + a 3.5" HD (BIG), and worrying about feeding power to it. Plus, with an iPod or other portable, you can use it outside of the car as well!

Yeah, that seems a lot more logical, especially with it recommending a laptop hard drive...

I know an IPod is superiour but I've seen some horrible stuff about guys who put an entire PC in the car. This seems like a sweet option.

I have that too, and I know this sounds ridiculous, but 200 songs just isn't enough, and I don't feel like paying 400 bucks for Kenwood's music keg thing...

Or better yet...cd-rw's

Dont like the 200 songs? reburn it.

I keep cd-rws of bands (pearl jam, ben folds, eminem, and incubus) in the car and when they do something new I can just reburn it to incorporate the new stuff.

Oh, I know, I do have many MP3 CD's...I just got used to having a CD changer in my car, and don't like having to change CD's. I know, maybe it's just laziness.

I just recently got an mp3 deck and I went from having 15 cd-r's to 4. I never had all my music in the car before because I didn't have enough rom for all those burned cd-rs. Now that I can fit 150 songs on one cdr I just burned a cd of rap, a cd of alternative, a cd of oldies and a cd of miscellaneous. I've got nearly all the music I own in the car on 4 cdr's. In my opinion that's pretty damn sweet.
