I loved Transformers. Dang basts broke my little 5 year old heart when they killed Optimus Prime. Dang jerks. Cool site!

It has been really turned into garbage though, whatever that new series with the minibots and horrible scripts and stupid kids, or that other one they're showing (some kind of Japanese version) that looks more like a Power Rangers episode, and I remember the Beast Wars one which was some kind of computer graphics and a bunch of animals.

Are the original Transformers directors and script writers still alive? Would be nice if they could make a few new shows for us. 🙂

Whatever happened to the original series anyway? How did that end?

It just ended here but continued in Japan.

It continued after the destruction of Unicron. Unicron was introduced in the movie. Megatron killed Optimus Prime. Star Scream tried to kill the nearly dead Megatron by jettisoning his body into space. Unicron needed his help and rebuilt him with better power and weapons and a new identity: Galvatron.

The series continued but eventually Rodimus Prime was demoted and Optimus Prime was reborn.

The fighting continued but with newer transformers. Predacons, Terrorcons, and various others were introduced. The Quintessons were still around as were the Junkions. Galvatron eventually had his madness cured. This is basically were the series in NA ended.

Isn't that the other way around? Galvatron became Megatron?
 
There's a new Transformers series currently on in Japan called "Superlink" it looks like a further continuation of the series.

I had almost every transformer that existed. The only problem I ever had with the serious was that, even asa kid, I was put off by the proposterousness of Megatron, Galvatron, and that triple changer's (I think his name was blitzkreig - he changed into a train, a spaceship, and himself) size change upon transforming. I mean come-on. Megatron shrinks into a pistol? Soundwave becomes a tiny boombox? Blitzkreig, when turning into a train, can house the majority of the decipticon fleet? Come on.....

You need to get the DVD.
First, we have the best ominous beginning to any movie. Ever.
Megatron finds a way into Autobot City, offering us, "Such heroic nonsense" BLAM!
Prime all but kills Megatron, prime dies.
Starscream declares himself the new leader, dumps Megatron off of Astrotrain.
Unicron rebuilds Megatron as Galvatron to destroy the autobot matrix of leadership.
Galvatron (Nemoy) comes in and kill Starscream.
Galvatron thinks he did it, but learns through a headache he didn't.
Hotrod and cup have some adventures.
Ultra Magnus is slain, and Galvatron wears the matrix around his neck.
All meet back up in Unicron.
Hotrod manages to becomes the next Prime, gaining a camper attachment.
Unicron's head floats out into the vastness of space.
