For those with wide screen LCDs. Do you open your browser full screen?

I don't. Since most sites are designed for 4/3 displays they look much better when the window takes up about 1/2-1/3 of the screen on a wide screen. I've seen some people use the whole screen though and I just find this hard to stand on most sites. Here is a pic of how I usually have my browser window sized:

I open it full screen and try to take advantage of websites when I can.
AT forum is good because the text goes all the way across and I can see lots of posts at once.

Running 1920x1200.

Left side is currently streaming youtube. Right side is you know what.

Othertimes, it's neffing on one half and MS Office in the other. No reason to waste real estate when 90% of sites don't use the entire screen.

I find that even worse. Years of reading media on relatively confined mediums like books, magazines and newspapers has trained by brain to prefer text confined to some form of column. I find it hard to read text that goes on and on and on. I think most people are the same.

This I understand. And sometimes do. Is "you know what" ATOT or pr0n? Sorry on ATOT it could easily be either one 🙂

Depends on the resolution and the OS. When I'm using Windows, anything greater than 1440 pixels and I'll usually not use the full screen. If I'm using OSX, I'll have everything window-ed....

I have windows sidebar on the left and digsby docked on the right. Essentially, my "full screen" browser is 4:3 ratio.

Pretty close to full screen. I have hidden toolbars on both sides of the screen. Weblinks on the left and my favorite apps on the right.

Full screen. Some sites use it, and i'm not doing anything with the rest of the screen anyway. Less scrolling on sites like this is a bonus.

No, I usually open and arrange different program/windows so I can just click on it to change it rather than using the task bar. My Firefox browser is set to 1340x956 on a 1680x1050 screen.

Still better than last year. Remember we had like a month of straight rain around this time then.

Meh, I don't like seeing the desktop on both sides if it's not being used. Plus I can make this message about three times longer and it still won't jump to the next line...at least in the reply box...damn...I'm like 3/4 out of room now...13/16ish alright I'll stop (7/8).

practically never. i use about 2/3 of the screen for the browsers (from the left side of the screen) and have IMs, or a terminalwindow, or a music player or something open at once (my widescreen is 13" LCD 1920x1080) on the right side.

real estate + virtual desktops = win for multitasking.

of course, my new build had a problem so I RMAd the mobo....so I have this lcd hooked up to a netbook. not much of a multitasker...

I go fullscreen, but I am only working with 1024x600 here so I got to get every last pixel used. I also have my windows taskbar on the left side of the screen.
