It's a PIA when you forget to cradle the mouse or it falls over and never gets charged. At least with the new one you can use it as a corded mouse as it charges and the mouse is loaded with a pair of AA Enloops so you can just swap these out too.

I've never had an issue with my cordless mice. I drop it in the cradle before bed, or if I'm going to be away from the machine awhile, and it stays charged. In 4 years of cordless mouse use, I've never run out of charge on them. I'm using a corded mouse now, and it really makes me appreciate my old cordless mice. My next one will definitely be sans cord.

Right but your desk isn't moving over the ocean at 20 knots either. ;)

I've been through a ton of mice because of them falling and landing in places they shouldn't be! I usually stow them in a drawer that gets locked when I'm not using them.

The new Nano receivers are nice too. They've unified them so you can "pair" other devices to them so no more exchanging receivers. They are TINY though. (easy to lose)

Logitech G500>Revolution.

I have the G500 at home, the Revolution at work, the G7 was my old home mouse, used a 518 for a bit, the MX1000, and MX618 have all been used. So far, the G500 is second best in how it feels, but the best in functionality. The MX1000 felt better in my hand, but the G500 fits much better than the G7 did.

Actually the work spaces have large eyelets to tie everything down. Larger items that cannot move at all get strapped down with fabric straps that have 6,000 kg break strength. Things still do break though.

I seriously considered it but realized with the amount of WoW I play the battery thing would suck. I have the MX518 and just mapped that small button below the wheel to "end" so it gets me to the very bottom. Otherwise, mouse gesture.

oh no it wouldn't the issue. you'd have to seriously play atleast 24+ hours straight with frantic mouse movements to run out of batteries on a lithium battery mouse like the revolution. older cordless might die during a gaming spree but not the new ones. battery life is quite long, atleast two days even with heavy use. and recharge takes not much time at all, take a shower and it would probably be charged enough for the rest of the day.... new cordless mice take very little power.
the mx1100 and 550 i have last for months on their AA batteries whereas my old mx700 used to last for a few days at most:p

$129 is a LOT for a mouse!

Where can you buy it? :hmm:

I think ive owned 3 mice in the last 15 years, so I woulde3nt mind spending 150$ on a kick ass study smooth mouse thats going to last 5-10 years. Its THE thing youre going to have your hands on most....technology wise!

I agree, considering how much i've used it, $100 for my mx rev is well, well worth the cost.

I agree. It's one of your main interfaces with the machine. It should work, and fit as well as possible. $150 for a well fitting keyboard/mouse is some of the best money you could spend on a computer.

LOL I was poking fun (sarchasm) at the price. ;)

If something works well I have no problem purchasing it. (outside of USAF prices for tools, that is! :p )

i've had:
mx1000 - good design, poor reception, bad at games
mx rev - improvement in general, but thumb buttons are crippled by software, bad at games, i dropped it and broke the middle wheel
mx performance - again general improvement, better wheel/clutch, thumb button design not ideal, less expensive to manufacture but no price change

with logitech kb and mice, i highly recommend / strongly suggest the uberoptions driver hack.
