Although I'm in the US, all of my co-workers (including boss) work in the UK. Therefore, as far as they're concerned, they don't have a holiday, I don't have a holiday. I'll be here till 5:00 but have off tomorrow and Friday thank god.

I do have a 2 hr road trip ahead of me.

I work for the government (public education)... normally get off work at 16:00... I'm leaving at 13:45... per special request. Nearly all other staff are dismissed at approximately 14:40.

Hahaha. Ausm, your workplace tales never cease to amuse me. 🙂 I also think that if they didn't have to the owners would prefer we work all holidays while they lounge around with their familes or take trips. Gotta be nice being millionaires. 🙁

That's ironic because we were under the impression we would have Friday off but the office manager, who is also a workaholic, apparently decided to come in that day afterall. We are, however leaving early but that means a nice 80 mile round trip for maybe four hours of work. So much for the 5 days off I was looking forward to.
