About how long did it take to get your motherboard/processor? I ordered my mobo/processor Saturday night and was wondering about how long it would take to get to Raleigh, NC. I haven't gotten a UPS shipping confirmation yet either. Did you guys get a conformation for your orders?

BTW, after reading the forums I couldn't resist.
I bought a NW 1.6a and P4S333 from googlegear, and two sticks of the 256meg PC3000 ram from OCSystem.com for $88 each. I hope this system rocks!

i ordered mine friday feb. 15th from googlegear (p4s333, 1.6a northy, 350w ps), and according to ups, it's supposed to be here this friday, the 22nd. so i guess expect about 5-6 business days to get here? i sure can't wait till it gets here...

You get one e-mail confirming your order and another when it ships. You should receive your order in 5-8 business days. If your shipping address is different than your billing address it may take a little longer since they like to check that out with your credit card company.

I ordered my stuff on a Thursday and it got here the next Monday, and they sent me a shipment confirmation the day after I ordered.

By the way, pc3000 you say? Is that the OCZ stuff? If it is, I'd send it back, they make some real crappy stuff. I'd be surprised if it worked, let alone run at 400MHz. Oh well, good luck with it.

I think I'd rather buy the Kingmax 5ns PC2700 for $92 (5ns=200 Mhz)

or take a chance on the Samsung PC2700 for $79 which some people have had good luck overclocking up to 400 Mhz

You know it is pc2700 ddr just rated to run at speeds equivalent to pc3000 if therw was any...

Personally, I bought some of the magical PC3000 thinking, "Woah, PC3000 DDR, and PC2700 is just coming out; I'll have the fastest memory on the block." When I got it, however, my system failed to post. Since the motherboard was new too, I tried out some old PC2100 I had in it, and it worked fine. Pissed off by bad DDR experience, I sent back my BD7 and the "PC3000" and went with Rambus. (I know I probably shouldn't have judged all DDR based on one bad experience with a shi**y company)

I don't have any links off the top of my head. You should search the Strictly Intel section of Hardforum.com for OCZ; lots of bad experiences. Also while you're there look for some posts by a guy called Orifice (I think that's it; I might have spelled it wrong though). He got some PC2700 running at 400MHz+, you might want to try out whatever he's using. Anyway, good luck with the new system; and if you still haven't gotten shipping notification from googlegear, I'd try to get in touch with them, cause something might've gotten messed up.

I never did get a shipping confirmation from googlegear or UPS, but I went to their website and sure enough, it shows my items as shipped with a tracking number right beside the order. Everything will be arriving on Feb 25 if UPS has their dates correct. Can't wait for my new system to get here. If I have bad results, I might send the ram back though. You guys are starting to scare me.

I didn't mean to scare you about the OCZ; hell it might work just fine for you. Give it a shot. I'd be surprised if it works for you at advertised speeds, but if it does keep it.

Yes. I'm pretty sure that the Asus P4S333 board that I am getting will run the memory that fast no problem.

Why not? Some of the die hard AMD overclockers out there have been able to get their fsb well into the 400MHz range, even 450+ has been done. I know for fact that the Iwill XP333 and the Leadtek 7350KDA motherboards both sport 1/6 PCI dividers, a divider meant for a 200MHz fsb (400MHz DDR). In order to match such a high fsb, the CPU would have to be unlocked and the multiplier then lowered (assuming that super cooling will not be used).

As far as a 200MHz fsb for Intel's P4, I don't see that being accomplished as easily as Intel has pretty much made unlocking their CPUs impossible.

I just ordered my Asus P4B266 and P4 1.6A yesterday evening from Googlegear. Payed for the 2 day Fedex, so I'm thinking I should have it by Wednesday. If you go with the UPS shipping, it could take a week.(5-6 days)

I also ordered a stick of 256Mb PC2100 DDR from Crucial yesterday right after I ordered the mobo/cpu, and they already shipped it! Order processing/shipping on a Saturday....Can't beat that.

Yeah. the KR7A can hit 200 plus FSB. But it doesn't have the /5 or /6 dividers. The IWILL XP333 and the Leadtek board does however.. stability ends at about 180 mhz with the XP333 and that mobo has sucky performance even at that high a busspeed. The leadtek can't even make 166 mhz stably. It's a pity.. Would be a sweet board if it did. I'd have bought one on the spot.

But it doesn't work. So I will wait.

I ordered a stick (256M) of OCZ PC3000 with P4B266 and a 1.8A from newegg also. Guess what? I put it together over the weekend, hit the power switch... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! over and over! Good thing I have a stick of crucial pc1600 sitting around. Did some research and, apparently, OCZ doesn't test their RAM's for compatibility with different boards. It'll probably run up the specs with the recommended settings and board, which for DDR's, only couple of older boards listed on their site. I should've done my research before, I know

Anyway, RMA'd that stuff for a refund. I might just get me some crucial pc2100.

Well, I ordered just a CPU (1.6a, of course) on the 15th (2/15) by UPS ground (yes, I'm cheap). Anyway, according to the tracking number, it shipped on the 19th and was scheduled for delivery on the 22nd. Didn't show up. Now UPS tracking info says "re-scheduled" for the 25th (and it say "out for delivery" now). It still hasn't arrived (at 4pm local time). I'll give them a couple more hours tonight...

Not good, but I think this is obviously UPS's fault (and my fault for going with ground). Also, I did order just before the holiday weekend.

Well, it finally came in this morning...ordered 2/15 (shipped 2/19) arrived, 2/26. I don't have a motherboard yet, but the good news is that it looks like I got one that should overclock pretty well (according to all the comments posted here and elsewhere):

just FYI pc3000 is 183mhz, PC3200 is the up and coming 200mhz chips, also note that the OCZ PC3000 is rated at CAS 2.5 not CAS2
