i remeber i used to have some transformers... back then you could smash 'em with a hammer and shoot 'em with a pneumatic nail gun and they'd be straight... i remeber, i did that!... those ones on http://www.transformers.com/product.asp?sku=80641&c=transformers look like they couldn't even handle some hot glue...
<< i don't get it, i have 2 optimus prime trailers and 1 optimus prime?! >>
wow, really? i always thought it was the other way around. everyone i knew had an optimus prime (usually with the head gone or something), but the trailer was lost instantly.
the japanese optimus prime is pretty awesome too . . . fire convoy, he was a fire truck! had a ladder to, if memory serves me correctly . . .
Man, I remember having hundreds of these things. Played and broke most of them and then they ended up in the gutter when we moved. I even had one of those 4 or 5 foot transformers that broke down to like a gazillion individual transformers.
i only got robotech models
saw an optimus prime transformer at target for $7.44 a month ago (back when the toys cleared--return) went with star wars battle droid instead and lotr for $3.74 each.
good thread.
I remember as a kid taking Megatron--which looked and felt just like a real metal gun--in my carry-on bag on an airline flight. I can imagine the reaction of the security guards if some kid tried that today.
This is such a cool thread. I loved the Transformers. Also, Mask!! I got a cool link I didn't see anyone post. It covers toys, cartoons, etc. from 50's-90's...
i have that TF the movie DVD, seen it a billion times, also seems amazon.com jacked up the price since last year, maybe they have been watching these threads, anyways i think the dvd sucks, no special feats on it, i could have saved money since i have the vhs tape, ow well buy it if you dont own it, its awsome
ok ok since all of you like going down memory lane, here's a HOT link for revisiting all your cool cartoons as well as Transformers. this will jog your memory more when you see the list of Transformers episodes. and if you were like me with your eyes glued to the set, you'll remember Superfriends "wonder twin powers activate" (yeah right), old school Spiderman (the colors in the sky - damn i wasn't even on drugs), and for all those who don't remember Visionaries (same people who did TF and GI Joe , oh yeah they did GEM) i'm sure some of you were hard up for Gem when you were a little boy. Any ways have fun and enjoy.
