But then what would be left of the show? It's the forever non-progressing story. There isn't much other drama to go on otherwise unless you count the freak of the day part...

True. True. In the comics, Lana and Clark never hooked up did they?

I don't think so. From what my friend told me, Lana actually hooks up with Pete in the comics. I could be wrong though. But, here's to hoping that the writers take creative license and change that if that's actually what happens.
It is frustrating to watch Clark screw thigns up week after week, but imo if they ever did hook up it'd be the end or near the end of the show, and I would like it to go on for as long as possible!

And I'd take Kristin Kreuk over whatever-Chloe's-real-name-is anyday

the part i find annoying is that "Lex" doesnt know what up yet, and I also dont see how lex wont be able to tell its him in the future. I mean the future superman doesnt use a mask, wouldnt lex recognize him? Plus supposedly lex is a bright boy, yet he misses these constant hints
