For those that got scammed by Marmaduke - URGENT

Most of us from this thread sought to save some money off the newegg pricing and got scammed by Marmaduke. Recently he's discontinued communication between the people that he still owes money or product to. There's a current list being compiled by the trollhunters at amdforums - here. They need your information if you haven't done so already to properly file a police report in his hometown.

If you have not sent in your claim yet - please email : Tenax at teerex@shaw.ca
with the following information in similar format:

example:

john doe (user name or real name)
2 512 sticks buffalo 3200
price paid-$x U.S. dollars
shipping option- ups 3 day
paid for by paypal- nov.12/03
shipping date indicated- nov. 14th
arrival date expected- nov. 17th
date of last communication with marmaduke- nov.16th
Also include your Address and Contact #.

I have never EVER spammed in this forum with any complaints or anything as I truly believe this warrants a thread in the Hot Deals section. Marmaduke has stolen around the range of $5000-$10,000 from our online communities.
Mods please do not lock.

Daniels, John or Nancy King aka MARMADUKE is already banned and listed as a bad trader in our Traders To Avoid thread.

eeeeeee....

I ordered 2 pcs from him, although the shipment was delayed for a week, I did get mine. I guess I was lucky. Can't believe how fast ppl turn to the dark side.

No - unfortunately people got sucked in by a few of the Newegg Winbond threads.

Essentially to save the $10-$20 off newegg, people (including myself) went w/ Marmaduke. He's not a trader because he has a small business doing this - well supposedly - so he made it in through a few Newegg threads.

I sent him $2000 for a Romanian orphan, but all I got was a dead hamster. He hasn't replied to any of my emails. :|

BTW, isn't Marmaduke a dog? How can a dog send email? Hmmm! 😕

You mean until now?

Sounds like he got in over his head. Probably swamped with orders.

Hope things work out, I almost got in on this deal.

Hmm I almost bought some ram from him..lucky I didn't. Good luck to those who did though, hope it works out.

I don't understand why you are such a dick whenever I see you post.

Wow am I glad I didn't end up buying stuff from that guy I hope everyone gets there money/memory.

I traded with this guy I think he is disabled as well... seemed nice to me seen the amd thread it is long there.

this should be in FS/FT though

I had a trade with Marmaduke that actually turned out better than I had planned.

I originally ordered 6 sticks of 256MB Buffalo CH-5. When I got the shipment, there was only 4 sticks. I told him the problem, and he said I would have to wait a few days -- which I did. When I asked him again, he said he was low on stock, and couldn't get me any for a few more days. Well, a few more days went by and he wound up sending me 2 sticks of 512MB (instead of 256MB) for my troubles. Not a bad trader at all.

(Then he inadvertantly sent me 2 more 256MB which was destined for another buyer which I promptly returned).

A good seller in my book, as my main PC now has a gig-o-ram! 😀

Not to pick directly on you EXman, but as far as it belonging in any one forum, I think it belongs in FS/FT, Hot Deals AND in Forum Issues. Peeps need to be alerted when this sort of thing happens. Perhaps there are "other factors" causing the problems that Marmaduke is having; at this point, no one knows because he has not addressed it. This type of post (hopefully) will prompt that. If not, it still serves to inform others.

I ordered two 512mb sticks of Buffalo PC3200. He (or she. I dealt with a Nancy by e-mail on this) sent me
two 256mb sticks. I contacted him with the mixup, and he(she) sent out the right order promptly, and
paypalled me back the cost of shipping the wrong sticks back.

I hope this is just a case of him getting in over his head. I also hope everyone gets satisfaction.
By the by, I think his Buffalo orders are just drop shipped from the manufacturer, or his supplier.
I don't think he keeps much or any actually in stock.

I feel bad about this, because based on my experience with him, I gave him recommendations in the
AMDMB forum. And bumped his thread.

Just goes to show, stick with Newegg, even for a paltry few dollars more.

I actually bought some RAM from this guy.... I told everyone here NOT to buy from him it took over a MONTH to recieve my order. I even tried to get him to refund my $$ but that never happend. All in all I did eventually get my RAM. But I was not too happy about it. I figured this would happen sooner or later. Bad thing is there is NOTHING you can do about it.... Sigh.. WORSE yet if you get your items and they are damaged.... I was really sweating it out that the RAM would be good when I put it in the system since god knows what would happen if you ever had to use this guy to RMA stuff. But, as luck would have it I am typing out this message to you on perfectly good RAM from Marmaduke...

Good Luck to all in getting your cash back or items that you paid for....

Just goes to show if it's too good to be true...It most likely is. Best to stay away from low lifes that think they can sell 5000 sticks of RAM every month. Stick with a reputable company like New Egg, Crucial, Kingston, Mushkin...etc...etc... You may pay a few more bucks but you will get it sooner and that to me is worth the extra 5 bucks!!!

same story here, brought 2 buffalo 256mb pc3200. took over a month to get it, he didn't refund price difference or let me cancel order get full refund. however, the rams are good stuff. but i still don't recommand him to anyone. now I hear the bad news, so go buy from newegg with few more bucks. cuz when the time I order from him to the time I received the ram, the price already dropped like $10.

GL to those who still in the deep water

Could his disability have turned into a bad health issue? I haven't traded for a while but this thread has many more positive experiences than the usual troll, even for trolls that hook people by doing legitimate business in the beginning to gain heatware or whatever.

The problem with Marmaduke is that he never (or much more seldom than he should) declared a product to be "Out of Stock", even though I'm almost sure he knew fully well that the product won't be available for at least several weeks. He just kept posting it as "in stock" and so people kept sending him money by Paypal. IMHO, that's not a very honest practice.

In contrast, Newegg keeps very accurate account of its inventory. When a product is in stock, it's really in stock and it gets shipped very promptly.

I myself ordered two sticks of 512MB PC3700 Winbond BH-5 from him very early on. Got the ram in about a week. He still had very good service at that time (about 6 months ago).

I payed for 2 sticks 256 pc3200 also, but they never arrived. I wouldn't mind waiting for a bit in order to get the good stuff/help out a forum person/be patient with a business owner who is in over their head, but this guy sent a couple polite responses "Please send all the payment info and i iwll take care of it!"; a stock response he has sent to me three seperate times before dropping off the map - he has gone to the dark side and it is too late to cancel your Paypal payment. He can also be had for mail fraud if anyone requested that their RAM be shipped, or payment was made via USPS.

It has been two months now.

this was one of the reasons dealers got banned from the forums here. i sometimes get very very good prices on certain things, and used to sell maybe 2 years ago on anands. but yeah... if people are selling in bulk things like this happen when they arent organized or they become unscrupulous. at least if he was selling on ebay you could get refunds through paypal...
