Hi, i have a P4-2.8E , retail heatsink fan at stock speed

i have the CoolerMaster Centurion5 case..
and a GTR 450W psu.

Is the cpu really that hot... what i mean is..

when i touch the case, i can actually feel the heat bumping out from the cpu's hsf.

and form the psu, the air is actually HOT.

My case is made of alluminum, may be it is the case y the whole case is warm>hot.
the case comes with a 12cm coolermaster bearing fan in front.

is it normal? or do i need to do some ventilation myself even with this case.

oh i have the Asus P4P800E- Dx,

how can i messure case temp with this board?



any how many do u install ASUS PROBE to monitor temperature? or do u use other software?

I use motherboard monitor 5, but asus probe would do the job just as fine

what temp do u get?

do u need to mount any wires to the cpu or heatsink in order to test the heat?

i remember my old old abit boards does require me to tape or glue a thermal detector wire onto the cpu to test the temp.

No you don't have to tape or mount and wires. Most motherboards use the on die thermal probe in CPU's. And feeling the outside of your case with your hands to judge your temps really won't work. There are other factors that can make a case hot, like the hard drive(s), video card or PSU.

actually making the case hot is the PSU..

now i am putting the 450w to a Pentium3 system and try...

so far the psu is cold. no heat at all.

i am wondering if the prescott is drawing too much power. or what.
