well.. the Madcat *is* the best overall mech. Its got speed, maneuverability, firepower....
the clans do know how to make good machines, quiaff?




btw... you *do* know that the TimberWolf and the MadCat *are* the same mech, right?

Ya i know..i can come out fresh unload an entire barage untill im overheating on a madcat and still barely win just because of those ppc cannons. I think they made the ppc too strong/long range in this and the hammer rockets just..well..not good enough (after all, some battles finish by the time it takes for a fully charged hammer to go off)

What do you use to control your mech. I used to play mech warrior, but hated trying to aim with a joystick.

it actually controls pretty much the same as halo, left stick moves, right stick aims...and I also find the xbox controller sticks are MUCH easier to use than a joystick.

Mad Cat/Timber Wolf...depends on what I'm going up against.

Me and a buddy played Atlas v. Atlas Friday night.
Fun mech, altho it takes several energy powerups before it'll do much damage

I also like the radar and target jamming countermeasures.

And using jump jets to land on your opponent from above = PRICELESS!

You have to SEVERELY weaken an opponent, and unless you have a decent amount of armor, and enough jet to run away, expect that the resulting explosion will take you out as well.

Still..yelling "DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!!" over the headset at your opponent, right before landing on them...YEE-HAAAAA!!!

Yeah I saw the commercial with this sequence in it... looked dope! What are some other good games coming out for xbox soon?

I just do A A A A (you know, the start code) and the default is the ATLAS. He is fine. Big and powerful but I hate how long it takes hit to turn his guns. I get these little mechs how run circles around me shooting me with their machine guns while I die getting few hits on them.

splinter cell's coming out soon isnt it? of course...ive never really liked any tom clancy games

Ah, all this mech talk reminds me of all my mecha gaming days. I've played em all, but the one that sticks in my mind is MPBT 3025, which was around just last year I bought Mech 4: Mercs, but it doesn't like something in my system and is giving me all kindsa graphical glitches.

Anyways, I was in Tokyo for work back in April, and they are all into robot battle games. Armored Core 3 was the big console mecha game there at the time, but there was something else they had in the Arcades that looked a lot like that Steel Battalion game. It could be linked up to like 32 different players, looked like a lotta fun, but looked hard lol. Those guys were way into it too, arcades don't seem to close there. Wasn't cheap to play either, about $2.25 per game (300 Yen).
