For those of you who still have a 7800gt (single). What are your plans now that the 7900's are out?

Are you guys upgrading, or going sli?

i just bought mine three weeks ago. it's running nicely @480/1200, so i'm going to be keeping it for a while. plus i'm tired of spending my money on computer hardware.

Step up with evga for pratically no money and just pay them to ship newer faster cards.

That should be an option in the poll.

I second the Step up. Basically I'm paying $30 to step up to a 7900GT card that can OC to basically almost equal a 512MB GTX in terms of performance.

Same thing I'm thinking. And I'm on Water Cooling (or will be soon) so that will be fun.

I'm keeping my 7800GT until mid april (when I farm them out to family) and if a HDCP 7900 comes out i'll buy a couple, if not i'll move a X1800XT from my 2nd rig to this one and wait for DX10.

Keeping it until the next gen or maybe the one after that comes out.
I've had it over 5 months, I'm limited to 1280x1024 by my LCD, no need to upgrade.

I am just going to keep both of mine until the next gen cards come out. I would have upgraded to 7900GTs though if my step up period hadn't expired just before they came out.

I bought an eVGA 7800GT at about the first of the year, so I really should check out the step-up program. :D

Why is the SLI option losing the in poll? I'm assuming that those of you who had a 7800gt went sli right away? I just bought my xfx7800gt a month ago, so I can't step-up with evga =(

I can't believe how good the 7900gt overclocks...

I got a BFG 7800GT and I'm getting a Radeon X1900XT. :D DX10 doesn't worry me in the least because the game developers will probably still support DX9 for at least 2 more years. Today, they still support DX8 and DX7 depending on the game, like on HL2 you have a DX8 and DX7 if you don't have a DX9 card and for FEAR it has DX8 shaders and COD2 has a DX7 mode. If a game developer goes DX10 only before 2 years at least, they'll shut out a huge number of people and will lose a lot of money and no game developer is going to do that.

I dont qualify for stepup so i will wait for DX10 cards or later. Right now all games run fine at 1280x1024 and i have no need to upgrade.

i have a 7800 gtx and im not keeping it. Im not satisfied with its performance in battlefield 2. Big improvement over my 6800 gt but still a weak card IMO. I ordered a 7900 gtx and hopefully that will run bf2 with higher framerate

Your 7800gtx should be more then enought for bf2! My oc'ed 7800gt will run anywhere between 85 - 100fps on max settings.

That be me, thx Maze! :) Hope you enjoy your 1900!

SLI for me....I just picked up another eVga 7800GT for a good price. Max eye candy on my 19" LCD with some extra fps to boot. Will be pretty happy for the next year....

Also going to use the second 7800 in another machine on and off so it works out well for me...

m :)
