Sorry, should have qualified that. My anger / frustration went through the roof.

It doesn't mean you will though. You can quit smoking, eat exactly the same, and have the same activity you had before, and still gain weight

how did you vent your anger/fustration/energy? right now i snap at the smallest things, this normally isn't how i am... i would go and lift weights but i can't do that till later when i'm done with class... so any ideas that you have would help!

The only reason I'm not smoking now is my significant other. She deserves better than a smelly, sour tasting smoker.

He's right. No one wants to kiss an ashtray.
I always brushed my teeth after I smoked so that my husband would never have to feel like that was what he was doing. It didn't always help though.

I didn't smoke when I was out of the house that much. If he and I went out together I wouldn't smoke. I never even smoked in our room.Originally posted by: ffmcobalt
I didn't smoke much, though. Maybe two packs a week. But I wasn't going to lug a toothbrush and toothpaste everywhere either

you had the money to buy smokes no? but you can't afford to see the doc? Can you put a price on your lungs?
Doctors visit: $50-$100+ dollars
Prescription for Zyban: $100+/month
Can you put a price on your lungs?
health Insurance should cover the doctors visit and part of the prescription.

here's what i did when i quit cold turkey (before any patch or gum existed):
go for long walks (up to a few miles). i started doing this before i tried to quit because i knew what to expect from prior (failed) quitting attempts. when you feel anger/anxiety/craving, take off on a walk - worked for me.
you can walk for a longer time than you can lift weights, walk repeatedly throughout the day (try that with weightlifting!), plus you can speed up or slow down as needed.
health Insurance should cover the doctors visit and part of the prescription.

there are 40 million people without health insurance

You're right, but somehow I get the feeling that someone posting on ATOT on a decent PC, talking about going to classes (college I presume) and working out doesn't have health insurance. As a matter of fact, if I recall correctly from my days at college, you were required to have health insurance in order to even attend.
