Baked Green Mussel (obviously cooked, too)

haha...sashimi folks...sashimi

I don't like sushi :/ (ack don't kill me...) I like the parts separately, but together it's not good. Like I eat virtually everything that goes into sushi...but never all at once.

I'll give the other suggestions a shot soon enough.

The live octopus dish looks good cchen...don't know where I'd get that here (Boston), but I'm curious now.

oh no one likes raw oysters?

I don't think I could eat raw fish. Gives me the chills thinking about it. Is it an acquired taste for you guys, or just something you've had since ~birth so you're used to it?

I think the concept and texture are really the only two hurdles for people. The fish itself doesn't have a very strong taste or smell. Its not like the way it smell when u pull em from the river. Plus when you add soy sauce and wasabi u can't taste much. If u wanna start off easy, go to some american restaurant and get some seared ahi.

anyway, what kinds do you guys enjoy?

-Eric

edit: my regulars include tuna & salmon (alaskan salmon is really good...expensive, but yum)...so I'm looking for something new :)

Get to know your sushi chief and ask him\her to recommend something new for you.

all fish high in the food chain has larger amounts of heavy metals.

The farm-raised fish is much worse than the sushi/sashimi grade fish in these aspects, but yes, if youre very young or pregnant you may want to limit your intake. (But the mercury is not enough to really effect you unless you eat large amounts of raw fish)

Anyway, for suggestions, try Yellowtail and Red Snapper.
