A bit harsh, but yeah, you'd have to really naive to think that price is the prohibitive factor for people still on dial-up, but want faster speeds.
Hell, I'd pay quite the premium to get DSL/Cable in my area.

I'm just a bit sensitive on the topic... First, verizon told me DSL was available before I bought this house. Then, it was, "we meant, it will be available - it'll be there by May." They didn't say May of which year though. Of course, we continued to contact them regularly. Just a couple months ago, it became, "we're no longer upgrading our lines to expand the DSL availability. We're now installing fiber in select markets. Eventually, you might have fiber."
