For those of us who didn't go to a Division 1 school....

my school was D-1 in basketball, but D-3 non-scholarship in football. I grew up near Notre Dame, so I always root for them.

umm, that doesnt mean that you cant or shouldnt cheer for a program.

I don't think sports belong at a college. Schools should be spending their resources on more important things.

haha....ok. I wasn't gonna jump on you for not being a sports fan. Whatever, to each their own. This is just ignorant though - do you have any idea how much money a good football team pulls in? It adds a lot more "resources" than it uses.

Not to mention the intangibles. It brings attention to your school nationwide, it raises school spirit (which keeps students from transfering and can raise alumni donations).

To the question at hand - I went to Drexel, so I root for Drexel basketball. We didn't have a football team, I follow Pitt to an extent (almost went there), but I don't really have allegiences to any of the teams, I just watch.

RIT is not a division 1 school but has a division 1 sport in men's ice hockey. RIT's victory over #12 minnesota last saturday made me so happy!

other than that--
rutgers- football
villanova- men's basketball

Yeah seriously--a friend of mine who went to Cal who never donated any money before felt inspired to do so once they moved up to #2 in the football polls this year. Sports work with academics at many institutions and help the cause moreso than most people think.

None. College is about academics, not sports.

Dork.

Half my rent is paid by my gf with a degree in nursing from UF so guess who I cheer for? Another big team school now is USF which is just down the road from me. I've been cheering for their basketball team for a while and now I have football to be a fan of.

LSU is my team, always have been and always will be.

I also like Texas.

I don't "dislike" or "hate" any teams either. As long as the game is not a blow out, then all is good.
