If you have a HTPC, and you like to run emulators on it, you MUST check out gameex.
http://www.gameex.net/
It's a universal frontend, that can integrate every one of your emulators in an amazing, seamless way. It also does quite a bit of HTPC stuff, but there are better options there.
It mimics MCE in a lot of ways (and integrates quite nicely into it), allowing you to choose from every rom on your system from a single menu. It supports .7z goodmerges, cover art, manuals, etc. You can set favorites, itll remember games you play often, you can sort them in various ways, and once youre done playing a game, just hit ESC and you'll go right back to menu. You can even control the GUI with the same controller you use to play the games with. And its highly configurable.
You need the registered version for a few of its capabilities, but its well worth it if youre into this kinda thing...I couldnt live without it.
