I've heard on my350z.com that the stock blocks can't handle more than 400 whp, what have you done to beef up the engine/tranny?

They can go a little over 400 on the DE block, but keep tq under 370 and one should be fine.

The stock tranny can hold quite a bit of power... no tranny modification other than a twin disc carbon clutch. I also changed the rear FD from a 3.5 to 3.3 to make the car more streetable.

As far as the motor:
GTM spec Arias ED 9:1 CR pistons
Eagle Rods
GTM spec stage1 FI cams

nice build...what are the specs on the turbos included in that APS kit?

This is an original ball bearing kit. turbos are a GT25/35 hybrid spec'd for APS. their newer kits aren't the same. As far as I know, these turbos aren't available on their revised kits

dude that is straight up sexy time!

Clean as fark

Where do you live bro?

Thanks...

After spending all that money, do you have regret? I'm at the tipping point right now where if I did anything else to my car it's stupid and I should get STI money, but if I added all the stuff I did to the STI like I did to the WRX, I feel like I should have gotten into a better car/platform.

Like a Z06, EVO, etc.

Do you feel that after putting all that money into the 350z you wish you got a different car?

I go back and forth on it. I guess the best thing to say is I don't regret it, but doubt I will go this far again... at least not a new car. If I didn't spend the dough on the car, I would have spent it somewhere else, so I figure I at least still have the car. That said, you can buy a nicely setup, comparably built car for 20-30 grand.

But then it comes down to -> the car is an absolute beast on the street. it actually has too much power. You really need to be on your game when driving it. the power comes on so smooth, it will catch you by surprise. It definitely is still fun to drive even after owning it for nearly 8 yrs.

I also have an evo IX mr (535 awhp - stock block) that I basically bought that way. I did a few things, but it is nice to just find a nice car setup how you would have done it and save 10-15 grand.

Amazing build.

my other future thing is, if you mod a car up nice, it gives people something to aspire to get.

Unlike a Ferrari driver who scoffs at the local passer bys with a nose up in the air, I usually am welcome to the people who approach me for the car.

I usually don't delve into prices, locations, as I think they might jack my car at a later point. But if I give performance numbers, or brand names I hope they think wow this is nice maybe I should get this. I don't get any advertising money, but it helps somebody not destroy their car with eBay parts, or not installing something correctly like that guy who posted those shocks/struts all wrong haha

There is something to be said about having a car that scare the crap outta you and makes you a better driver. I think you got your moneys worth if after 8 years you still want to drive it.

Great score on the evo. Let someone else spend the dime when it comes to mods. I know alot of guys run away from modded cars for sale and I would agree with them on many of them but if a car was properly maintained and passes muster why not buy a modded car if its close to where you wanted to be anyway.

nice car but that is just too much nut for the street. With that said, I really want to get a 2004+ Viper coupe
LOL tell that to all the 1000+ WHP street driven Supra owners out there...its all relative, and more importantly, subjective. as crazy as the OP's Z is, its actually a pretty tame car...there's always someone faster out there...

Totally agree on buying cars that have been maintained well and modded. I think if I ever want an NSX I would prefer the ones that were modded than the garage queens with rotted hoses from not being driven.

I'm looking for a track ready miata that comes with a full interior in case I want to drive it every now and then. Might even spend some more coin for the S2000 that's track ready. That EVO was a hell of a score, you should have posted that car instead haha.

The evo looks pretty stock. exterior wise, just tinted windows, wheels, and JDM rear.
