I saw a commercial on TV last night about this. Find out some of the details HERE.

I hope they are bigger and better than those "MarketPro Shows". . .they are always too crowded. Visit the site above and print out a $1 off coupon for entry (entry is $8/$7 w/ coupon, 2 bucks more than MarketPro, and don't forget about parking downtown near the convention center. . .$5. Best to find friends and carpool, save $$)

If anyone has any experience (good or bad) with these shows, please post here and let us know, so we don't waste our time if it's not worth the hassle. These shows are marketed by "Blue Star Productions".

Thanks

This show has been around for a while and travels up and down the East coast. It was in Greensboro, NC a couple of weks ago. It is basically a flea market where vendors (some local ) pay to sell at the show. I have attended several of the Bluestar shows and never found any real deals. About the best thing that you can find is some cheap inkjet refills from a couple of the vendors that travel with the show. It is probably worth it to go if you have never attended one. It is fun to see all the locals selling the free after MIR items that they puchased from Staples, CompUSA, Best, Buy, Circuit City and others. Some don't ven bother to remove the origina store labels. A lot of the vendors also sell on eGay.

I agreed, the show is pretty weak. I paid 5 dollards for parking, 5 for admition, that is a bad deal in itself. There are nothing that special there anyways. Fry's has better price most of the time. Good luck if you want to return items too, because they don't come around town very often.

Another big ripoff is the mellinium mega super big sell, god dang it. They advertised 10 dollars cordless phones and 60 dollar dvd players and cheap name brand shoes and shirts, well there aren't any of those in the actual sell lol.

I went to a similar show (not sure if it was the same one) in Raleigh last year. After paying the semi-steep price of admission, I was dissapointed at the deals inside. Not to crap, but after parking and admission, the items at the show are more expensive than what you can find online. Afterall, the vendors have to pay for their travel, booth, and staff... But if you're not looking for a specific item and enjoy these kind of things a lot, by all means go for it. I had a good time, but just didn't find the hard drive I wanted (more expensive than staples!). Of course, the whole show could be buried in the snow they always forcast and we never get! (except for 2000, i guess you'd call 22 inches a small storm, I know I enjoyed my 2 weeks off from school!) Peace...

here is the link: /computer shows

I go to just about everyone that hits Melbourne, FL.

These are hit or miss. Sometimes I'll go and spend $300 and sometimes not a dime. It all depends on what the dealers have to unload...

Good deals I've picked up the last year... Altec Lansing ADA-305 speakers/sub for $50, 15" refurb monitors for $45, new 8X Sony cd-roms for $12, Nero 5 $20 OEM, cheap Mice $3, cheap Speakers $4...

The show last month had a crap load of refurb Compaq system... it's so obvious that most dealers buy from the same wholesalers because the shows always have a theme - every other dealer will have cheap systems, refurb burners, microsoft refurb mice/keyboards... Altec Lansing refurbs... ACER burners everywhere (got I hate them...)....

Also, if your looking for a system: most dealers will cut prices the last few hours of the second day of the show.

the best thing to do is to go to the shows about and hour or 2 before they close it down on Sunday. Thats when the vendors start unloading at a cheaper price as that is less they have to haul off. I live in Orlando and I go to just about all them....Just as SpongeBob said..its hit or miss.

heheeh yep 96.1 and 106.1 are the shiznit. I can't stand G105

Since there's about 8 inches of snow I don't think I'm gonna anywhere for a while. I've been to one of those computer shows in the past and I'd agree that it was a disappointment.

To make thing worse, in addition to the new snow tonight, there is another storm due in on Sunday night that will probably be ice instead of snow

Looks like we'll probably hit the 1 foot mark. To the Northerners, it sounds like a joke but the problem isn't the snow it's the roads and the drivers here. The city took 2 weeks to get to my subdivision in Y2K!

As far as the computer show, I also have to agree with some of the guys here about how disappointing they have been. Go figure, they charge you $8.00 to see what they want to sell you. Secondly, good luck on getting an exchange or your money back on defective stuff.

I'm a glutton for punishment I guess...

Let it Snow...Let It Snow...

(We don't say that often in Raleigh...)

I drove by the Raleigh Civic center taking my wife to work about 12:00pm today. The parking lot had about 15 cars in it. I picked her up about 3:30pm and there were about 50-60 cars there. I don't think that this has anything to do with the Market Pros Shows that come quarterly to the fairgrounds. The link to this show is here.

I intend to check it out about 11:00am Sat. I will try to post some info when I return. The streets downtown were perfect this afternoon.
