No, I made fun of them like everyone else. Actually I had considered it briefly, but I couldnt figure out Mac OS 9. One day at CompUSA it all clicked though. But that was after Mac OS X was out I believe.

mac hardware only started to become decent when they started making pci machines. they get more respect from me now that osx is out (and hiring oss guys)

If only they'd drop their prices on their G4 towers.
Dont know what they cost in the states, but here in Sweden, a half decent G4(800 MHz G4 with 256 KB L2, 256 MB RAM, CDRW, Radeon 7500) costs ~$2.200 which is absolutely rediculous for what you get.

A more decent config(933 MHz with 256 KB L2 and 2 MB L3, 256 MB, 60 GB, DVD/CD-RW GF4 MX) costs 3.1 friggin thousand.

For that price I can easially buy two PC's that will easially eclipse the G4 in performance in many areas.
MacOS X is very nice no doubt, but not THAT nice.

I think the zealotry of many Mac users is hurting Apple, cause as long as they keep up their fanatic love for Macs, and refuse to see the problems, I dont see much hope of improvement.

I see more value in their portables than their towers. But if I had the money I would pay their rediculous amounts for one. Im one of those suckers I guess.

I have the money, but it's going to a car.

For the price of a well equipped G4 Tower I can almost get a nice car.
That says something about their pricing.

Yeah, it says: You should have a damn good reason for buying me!

Do you? I know I dont. Unless you count the fact I love the new OS and enjoy the hardware. Its a good buy if you need what it can do. If you dont, why bother? I did it out of curiousity and its going to cost me a bunch of money now. Ive got my heart set on a Titanium powerbook (dont want a tower because I want to show it off and I think the notebooks are a better "deal"). ;)
