For those college kids on the forum...do you miss your TV?

I'm in college, and I have a TV in my living room.....and one my computer (I  my AIW 9700 pro 😉 (.

I never really watched that much tv, maybe 3 hours a week, it was really nice having it to watch movies on though! My crazy b!tch of an ex-room mate took the tv when she left (I still have the stand!!) but I had a girl over a few nights ago, and watching a movie in surround sound on my 15" laptop screen leaves something to be desired! Thankfully the movie was office space so it sells itself, which left me free to do other things

thats why they invented the internet- all the fun of tv, without all of the pain of commercials.

or tivo, i spose.

shouldn't you be busy getting hamered?!

but seriously, i had a tv, just crappy reception. I managed to watch the shows i wanted to watch through alternative means, but yea, for one year, no tv watching for me.

now i have a tv tuner in my computer and use it as a pvr, i couldnt' be happier.

I have a TV in my dorm that I never use. It gets just about every channel you could want except pr0n, but I'm too busy gaming/coding/studying/class/etc to watch any of the crap that's on TV.

Wish it wasn't here because of my roommate though. He's always laughing his ass off at any stupid crap you can imagine. Has a tendency to slap his knee really loud as he does that. As if the noise of the TV itself wasn't enough to deal with...

I had one in my dorm room, though I kind of wish I hadn't. My roommate liked to watch Dawson's Creek.

He claimed he was hetero. I'm not so sure.

I saved up and got myself a 30" widescreen philips hdtv for my apartment. Then I spent $30 on the component adapter for my radeon card. Add windvd and DVDIdle to the mix, and maybe some bittorrent, and I have all the high quality hdtv I need
