For the university students - how many credit hours are you taking?

We don't use credit hours, I have slacked off the past couple years taking 3 classes per term (x3 hours each = 9 credit hours?)

But I'm done with school, so will be taking 6 classes (18 credit hours?) next term.

My record was 40 quarter hours...probably not my best idea. Semester hours my high so far was 21, also not a good idea. Now I try to keep it to 18 or under (semester).

I'm at 15 for next, I did 12 this fall... As long as I keep 12 for the next year, I'll graduate on time, I couldn't really speed it up because of the order that I have to take my remaining classes in.

22 is nuts, I think we're limited to 21 hours per semester.

Am doing 16 hours next semester and working ~20 hrs/week, which is more than enough for me. I may end up dropping a class next semester, will just have to see how things go once classes actually start.

Limit is 24 here.My next semester is:

MATH2130 Eng. Math Analysis 1 (I took #2 this semester because its a co-req for circuits)
MATH2120 Numerical Methods
PHYS 2152 Physics II (electromag shtuff, hell of a course so I've heard)
ECE3610 Microprocessor systems
ECE2160 Electronics 2
ANTH 21xx <- some damn arts course I'm forced to take.

It is a hell of a load, though I think this is going to be easier than this last semester because all of these courses aren't too dissimilar. Last semester I had technical communication - I'm glad I'll never have to suffer through that again 🙂

My reason for taking on this courseload is because it will allow me to get out into the industry sooner. I have no wish to be an academic.

Edit: I guess I should say that the inspiration for this thread was one in L&R where the OP (who shall remain nameless) was stalking some Walmart cashier. Apparently the cashier was taking 18 credit hours and the OP expressed some surprise. Again, he'll remain nameless 😱

Last semester = 6.
Upcoming semester = 10.
Semester after that will be 12. Due to Chatper 31 rules, I have to be going to school full time, but I won't take more than 12, as I don't get any more money for more than 12 hours...

13 credits. Computer engineering major. I rather not mess up my GPA since I have a 3.4 right now and I need to bump it up to 3.6 if I want a better chance for med school. I'm also doing volunteer work at the university's medical center too.

Edit: Everyone is on a semester schedule so I don't think I count

6 last semester (part-time school, full-time job)
17 next semester (full-time school, no job - took severance and am apart of a TAA)

Should take 1.5 years to finish my CIS/ITM degree.

Wow... that's a pretty extreme program if it requires 22 hours a semester for just one degree. My college required 128 to graduate, but my major required a lot more so I ended up with 152 hours and never took more than 17 in a semester. I had 12 from AP classes, 4 semesters of 16 hours, 2 semesters of 17 hours, 2 semesters of 12 hours (senior year), 4 J-terms of 3 hours each and a 6 hour summer internship.

The standard program runs for 5 years. Check this out. Like I said, 4 years for me.

I've been taking between 12 and 14/semester. Next semester I have 15 plus 1 or 2 units as a tutor for 4 classes written as a business internship. That will require an average of 4 hours/week.

How are you guys managing so many credits? I'm taking 17 right now but am only taking 13 next semester because it was recommended.
