Russia's claiming that this is a continuation of the Cold War is rather far-fetched...

I mean, I don't think the majority of Americans are really worried about the Russians anymore. This whole Olympic situation is in the hands of maybe a few hundred people, I don't understand why they're accusing the whole country of being salty towards them. All they can really accuse us of is North America having an unfair advantage in sporting events.

The Olympics usually don't change my political views, I'm surprised they change the Russians 🙁

Nope, what they should do though is make sure the ref only calls obvious penalties. Its going to be a rough game and the judges just need to let the 2 teams play it out witout calling a million penalties for small things.

So in other words, the exact OPPOSITE of yesterday's Canada / USA women's hockey final.

Actually unless Russia is bluffing, there likely won't be a match up tonight. They specifically said Russia will pull out of the Olympics before tonights game unless the IOC accepts their greivences. Considering they are protesting the womens figure skating, pairs figure skating, cross country sking and the previous Russia vs US game, I don't think the IOC will give in.. I think the IOC will call Russia's bluff, and we will all see what happens tonight.. Will Russia show up for the game?

Tell Russia that as soon as the US gets its gold medals for the 1972 Men's Basketball team, then they can start bitching.

<< Let the Wookie win. >>

LOL, that was great....

No, we should try our hardest to win, which is what we will do. As far as know, the Russians just suck this year and are pissed because they're not getting the breaks they usually get. Let's kick their collective ass! 😛

<< I just heard on MSNBC that that Russians are now protesting the fact that Sarah Hughes won the gold medal. :frown: >>

Link to story What a bunch of freaking cry babies the Russians are. I wonder if that has anything to do with the Canadians getting their gold in the pairs?

Its funny. Putin and the rest of Russia are complaining that NHL officals that live in North America are ref'ing the olympic games. Last I checked the vast majority of Russias hockey team lives in North America too..

<< Should we allow the Russian hockey team to soundly defeat us so that Russia doesn't go bezerk? >>

We'd also have to agree to NOT drug test them, as if they won Gold but tested positive for 4032 banned substances they would cry foul at that too.

Russian fears of unfair judgement are fully supported by all previous games - just look at the CZE vs. RUS match - 7 penalties to russians and only 3 to czechs... Now who in the right mind can call this fair, heh...?

Just get the american Judge (MCCREARY, Bill) off the skating ring and everybody will be satisfied...

To all those who openly mock Russians - shut the f*ck up.

let the best team win. period.

proud to be Russian

Boonerebel to fleshconsumed: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

😀

(openly mocks Russian) teeheehee

I think this started with the pairs figure skating, Russia vs. Canada. Do you really think that Russia won that event (falling all over themselves as they did, compared to Canada's flawless performance)?

The majority of the readers here don't even know the significance of that game. That game turned out to be one of the biggest heists of all time. It happened in plain sight and in front of millions of people.
