they usually do. That guy I mentioned in my earlier post who bought the Ferrari F1 car; he had his own team of mechanics to maintain the car and took them whereever the car went (to different tracks around the world).

However there is a lot of strings attached. You don't "own" the car in the entire sense. You cannot change the livery (the sponsor stickers on the car) and you can ONLY sell the car back to Ferarri. No one else. So its more of a lease I think.

Also, there is a school in Quebec, Canada where they teach you to drive an F1 car. Its ridiculously priced (I think 20-30k cdn).

bR, thanks for the info. I always got confused with them. You have any of the '97 races on computer by anychance?

nah i don't like that season. thats when Michael did a bonehead move and tried to run JV off the road... on worldwide TV to boot. 😕 man i tell you that guy is good enough that he doesn't need to do that but i guess he wants to win that badly did eh... reminded me of Senna punting Prost off. lol.

There's some races in that site you showed me though. 😀

Ah, to be rich 🙂 You know, people can BUY Enzos, but they could never buy the F50 (at least not initially) and could only lease them. That sucks!

Cmon that was cool though. Who wouldve thought the red cars could still pull off a 1-2 after that.. 😀

Except that you cannot drive them on any street. You can only seat one person in it and you cannot start the car by yourself (unless they put a starter in the car) and the cars pretty much need to be rebuilt every 75-100 miles or so if driven hard. Oh, a modern F1 engine will overheat if it sits idling for more than a minute or so. You wouldn't want to drive one on most roads anyway. They are so stiffly sprung that most people would feel like they had gone a few rounds with Lennox Lewis after driving it for a few miles.
