I might as well depress myself. Here's my kit:

Konica-Minolta Maxxum 7D ($600)
KM 28-75mm (D) f/2.8 ($300)
KM 18-70mm (D) f/3.5-5.6 ($70)
(2) Minolta 70-210mm f/4 ($150), selling one
(2) Minolta 50mm f/1.7 ($50), selling one
Minolta 35-80 f/3.5-5.6 (? soon to be sold)
Sigma 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ($50)
Sigma 75-300mm f/3.5-5.6 ($50)
Minolta RC-1000S Remote cord ($40)
Bogen-Manfrotto 3021BPRO legs and 486RC2 ballhead ($200)
(2) Minolta Maxxum 7000 film bodies
Minolta Maxxum 5000 film body
Minolta Maxxum 3xi film body
Minolta Maxxum 1800AF flash
Lexar 1GB Pro CF ($40)
Sandisk Ultra II 1GB CF ($40)
Sandisk Ultra II 512MB CF ($20)
Sandisk 512MB CF ($15)
Crucial 512MB CF ($14)

Currently bidding on a 50mm f/2.8 Macro at $100 and looking to buy a $300+ flash unit.

So, $1839 before any additional purchases. I should recoup some from eGay since the 50mm lenses are going for about $100, and the 70-210mm f/4 should fetch about $175. That's some comfort. ;)

I need some primes though. What's amusing is that my truck cost less than my camera gear.

Yup! And the cost in $ is more than twice the down payment for my house mortgage. The cost of computing is about the same as the house down payment. However, computing has cost me much more time than photography.

[oops] I counted paper & chemical too, but shutterbug hardware wise it is about the same as computing.
