Hi ATers, i just started buying stuff off FS/FT forums, and i was wondering how it works really.. is it customary for the buyer to ask for items to be shipped out first? or do the buyers usually pay first.

Usually the guy with less/no eval send out the item/money first.

If both are reputable/respectable, then they may go cross-shipping.

As far as the evals.. seems like we count Heatware more than Egay feedbacks.

If both Buyer and seller are established Traders the buyer usually pays first. If you are new then you would be expected to ship first (if the other party is an established trader) or pay first if you are a buyer. Be careful though. Always check for heatware and confrim the heatware by emailing those who have left evals for the trader you are entering a transaction with.

Yea, be careful. Lately, people with 100 positive heatwares went hell. God knows why..

Depends on reputation here and usually heatware. Since you are slightly newer than I, you`ll probably need good heatware or ship/pay first. I have had very good luck buying stuff by paying first. Just have to check out who you are buying from.
You may not have Heatware because you think "I am only going to buy a few things." I too once thought this, but slowly, inexorb, uhhh, fatefully, I have been drawn in.
If you live near a Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, or Sam`s Club, for God`s sake do NOT go to Hot Deals, ever.
And as always, if a deal sounds to good to be true :)

thanks, this is what i was looking for (the tips on fs/ft) but i didn't know how to title the thread well. i don't have heatware just yet but i signed up for it; but i do sell/buy on eBay so i've been using that as my evals (40+ positives)

I'd always ask for their phone number and address if I'm uncertain. Why not talk to them over the phone about the deal?
