Sorry, but what makes a $5-7/hr employee of a chain store eligible for at $2-3-400 deal? I could see if you were a major distributor, but someone who participates in the sale of a couple of systems a month??C'mon . I think it's complete bullsh!t when you try to push ethics on a deal like this.

What a faqing idiot. I'm sorry but even working part time I sell at least 70 p4 systems a month on average. Considering over the past year I've sold around 900-1000 systems I don't think it's ridiculous for intel to offer us a deal. For those who work at a best buy or circuit and are limited on income why not give them a chance to get the technology they sale on a daily basis at a good price? Don't be jealous becuase you're a complete tool. I don't know anyone who sells computers for less than $7/hr either. Oh well... I can't wait until my new gear shows up on the front door.

Did you really need to make it personal and start calling names. Really

Time to upgrade again.. i work at a valid retailer.. and might even sell you guys my last
years P4 2.53 and mboard combo.. even throw in the xp pro it came with..

I will upgrade this year with the 3.06g and 865mb.. altho I am wondering
why this motherboard STILL doesnt have 1394 firewire on it.. and they left off the dolby 5.1 jacks
out of the back..altho it says 6 channel sound card??

One nice thing is gigabit ethernet ports.. and 8x AGP..
(built in video isnt that great.. but might be cool for dual monitors).. or even 3??

I have a video card with dual monitor out.. could i use the built in mboard vga port
and the 2 on my pci card, and have 3 outputs?

LOL, someone asked about distributor promotions...dude Intel's retail program doesn't even compare to the stuff my dad gets! Buy 10 Radeon 9800 256mb the week they are released, get 1 free. Buy x MB of memory, get x MB free. Kickbacks from HP, Toshiba, IBM, Intel. These deals come in once or twice a WEEK. And free shipping 99% of the time (for the freebies.) CDW, Insight, Ingram...they all play the game.

Actually, the Intel Ebay Police are real, well at least they were two years ago when I was trying
to purchase a processor. I sent the seller of a 933mhz PentiumIII engineering sample an email,
asking why his auction had been cancelled, here is his reply:

Hi
Here is the original notice from intel.
I chose the path of least resistance, and asked them to send me a Retail
Boxed 933 as a replacement.
Regards

Title of item: PIII 933 Socket 370 CPU Engineering Sample!!
Seller: X?X?X?X?X?X
Starts: May-09-01 06:40:53 PDT
Ends: May-16-01 06:40:53 PDT
Price: Currently $102.50

I changed the names and emails so these guys don't get flooded.

I know that was kinda off topic, so, I would like to thank the guy that suggested emailing
them and explaining that I work in computer retailing, but not for any of the chains. I now
have a Intel Retail Edge Program account. I may not be offered the deal though, as I was
warned by the guy from Intel. It was worth a shot.

Good news everybody, according to this article at Xbitlabs.com, this board will be able to accept the Prescott CPU when it comes out (unlike many 865 and 875 boards to date).

I highly doubt it because you are not selling their products and are really considered competition.
