Penn State is technically a private school that performs the functions of a public school because PA is too broken to have a real public school. So in reality, it's the least expensive private school.

UVM is not 10k a year pal...not even if your in state...its close to 40....unless your working with part time just calases, no dorms, no food numbers....

University of Michigan is the most expensive public school in the nation for out-of-state students. It's $30,000/yr. for out-of-state students.

Luckily, I'm an in-state student; $10,000 a year isn't too bad. 🙂

Penn State is a "state-related" school. Ostensibly, it functions no differently from any other public school, so there's no reason for it to be listed any other way. The out-of-state tuition for PSU is over $20k. That's not that cheap...

Pennyslvania does have "normal" public schools - West Chester, Millersville, Shippensburg, Cheyney, Edinboro, IUP, Kutztown, Bloomsburg, York and a few others that you probably never have heard of.

Frankly, I never understood why you would go to a state college in another state unless you were getting a juicy scholarship or the school was particularly well-known for the field you wish to study. NJ residents could go to Rutgers for under $10k or PSU for over $20k....and people actually GO to PSU!

Um Boston U is over $40K a year and so is Harvard and MIT. Maybe they are counting financial aid in those figures?

thats not counting rooom and board is it? cause the school i went to totals like 36-38K this year for tuition

the 2004/2005 numbers

Tuition and fees: $30,300
Room/board: $7,600

and you HAVE to live in college houseing either a dorm or a house for the first 3 years

What about Michigan for expensive public? Texas aint cheap either.

And where are harvard or yale on the private schools?

Actually, Harvard is not that expensive (in comparison)...tuition it self is around 25k last i heard, but that was from a student whoi hate dit there...so...i am not sure that is right.

All of the figures are based on tuition and required fees charged to first-time, full-time undergraduates at four-year colleges and universities, based on a nine-month academic year of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.

Wow UNR is cheap! dang!

Anyone lese notice the 10th CHEAPEST pruvate school is just a little more than the MOST EXPENSIVE public school?

 University Of California System!

We do to have state schools in PA! :| Something like 14 of them and Penn State is not one of them

 at my GF. She goes to a catholic college that costs more than the most expensive schools on that list AND has the added benefit of allowing complete retards (sub 850 SAT's) to walk out with 3.9's.....
