For those who have just got new digital cameras, or even those who have had them for a while, check out Picasa which is now free thanks to Google.
Given that your camera just acts as a storage device when plugging in via USB port (I think they all do now?) , Picasa offers to copy all the images over, and delete the one's copied over in a few clicks, whilst adding them to an album.

Now time to get some NiMH batteries.... Alkalines dont last long with digital cameras
