For Laptop: 6800 Go 256mb, vs. x700 256mb

I'm looking at two computers, one is a Prostar, the other a Dell

Both have:
2.0Ghz Pentium M
1 gig ram
60gb 7200rpm drive
dvd burner / integrated wireless / etc.

The Prostar has the x700, and the Dell has the 6800 Go...

Which one would be better performance for overall gaming, and do either of the video cards have any more of a drain on the battery than the other?

Thanks for all help...

Gaming on a laptop is pointless imo.

Get a desktop for that.

I would get a low end video card and save some battery life.

QFT also think of thermal dissapation issues. I have a p4 laptop and a relatively cool ATI 345M gpu even at 90w max power draw, the heat ended up melting my power supply plastic nub/tip into the power connector socket. I think the dells draw more than 130w. Even at 90 w maybe 1-1.5 hour max battery life. for your dell, id be suprised at 1 hour to maybe 1 hour 15minutes tahnks to the pentium M.

I think it's pretty obvious looking at his 2.0ghz p-m and 7200rpm hdd that he's going to be gaming. The 6800 would be way better.

Agreed.

Having a P4 3.6E with a 6800 Go, I can attest to the fact that you don't NEED a desktop to play games fluidly, and beautifully.

Thanks for the info...based on price it looks like I'll probably end up with the x700...

I just want to know that I won't be horribly dis-satisfied with gaming performance.

I'm used to a 6600gt in my desktop right now...any comparison there?

6600 in the desktop realm tears up the x700 (I'll be happy to post references if you'd like).
