For us New Years is just another night...no big deal...go to bed wake up and it is just another day full of the same BS.

It's another day to spend with friends and family and have a good time. You guys are party poopers. You guys probably have no friends or family to spend it with.

My best was 2000. Got so drunk I couldnt feel feelings. And coulda got laid by a hot black chick, and possibly had 4some with a married couple, but when I'm drunk my pecker is useless.

Actually, the ones before that sucked too. 1997 was my first year in the the Navy. New Years 1998 I was on duty. New Years 1999 I was in the Adriatic and I think we may have been launching Tomahawks on Kosovo at that point.
2000 was the first and last good New Years for me. Every one since has been boring or massive fail. Last couple I couldnt even get a date, just tongued some random drunk chicks at the bar.
So maybe I wont go out this time.

Nah. Just have enough self esteem that I don't need others to bolster it.
Not starving for affection or attention.
Not insecure in that I have to do what the masses are doing.

Most normal people will take occassions like New Years, birthdays etc to spend precious moments with friends and family. It has nothing to do with craving attention and everything to do with enjoying life to its fullest.

Have fun in your dull joyless existence though.

What do you do the rest of the year, sit around with your thumb up your ass?

You must have heard about the law in the US where 12/31 is the only day you can have any fun. I hate that law but I must admit, I did vote for it.

Your attitude is that there's no sense in being celebratory for any occasion. You're a buzz kill - a boring dullard who attempts to weakly justify your aversion to socialising. I can tell you're a hoot at parties. If you went to parties, which you clearly don't.

They fact that I don't need a specific date on a calendar to tell me when to have fun means I am a buzz kill? Quite the contrary.

This thread is filled with straw men and ad hominums. We can just lock it now. No one is thinking, only mouthing off.
We have politics for that.

There you go. Can't make an argument so you resort to personal attacks.
G1.

Its an excuse for a get together for most. If one really values spending time with loved ones then any other day of the year is also an opportunity, its whether you have it in you to care rather than waiting for special occasions. Every day is a special day if you make it so.
