For gaming, upgrade GPU or CPU?

Pretty much any game that is ported from the 360 to PC without taking into account the fact that your going from 3 cores to possibly 2 will run better with a quad. I played the Batman demo, and since it's a UE3 game, it'll probably perform better if I had a quad. Any UE3 game probably.

Providing you have a half-decent CPU, a GPU upgrade will by far give you the biggest performance gain. I?m on a stock E6850 and I got a 30% performance gain by going from a GTX260+ to a GTX285, while the GTX285 was twice as fast as my 4850 in many situations.

I agree, better long term investment.
