Meet Danica Patrick.

Saw this on the MSN front page and thought it was interesting. Honestly, I'm surprised a woman hasn't broken into F1 racing earlier than this - the "cabs" in those cars are frickin' tiny. I've actually sat in one before (a couple years ago. Back then, at 5'10" I probably weighed 160lb or so), and it was pretty snug.

She's not bad lookin', either :)

I think its great for the sport.

I've been to the time trials a few times and its really cool meeting the drivers...man they are tiny.

hope she does well. even have the autograph of that other woman who pretty decent a few years back (sarah 'somethin')

The speed of those cars and power are simply mind blowing. But yeah, as a whole women can't drive. This one however could outdrive every single member of this board and probably every intarweb board out there.

As soon as she proves herself on a road course, I'll accept her. IRL is a second-tier series at best.

I wish her well, but I don't think this is as big of a deal as it's being made out to be. Sarah Fisher was supposed to be a huge deal, then proved to be mid-pack. Same with Lyn St. James. And then there was the year that Sarah Fisher crashed into Lyn St. James, managing to find and wreck into the only other woman racing that day. :p

I've seen many exceptional woman drivers, but I dislike the fanfare that they receive just because of a genetic accident.

Look at the image section and then check out image number 29. Doesn't look right.

Honestly, who cares? Shes getting all this publicity because of Indy 500 and because shes *gasp* actually good looking in a bland sort of way.

dude, as much of a sexist pig as I am this is pretty cool.

She had the pole easily and the best laps, but a slip in qualifying put her in the position she's in. It will be interesting for sure.

She's like the super underdog that put out some great laps. Pretty impressive at this level at a premier event. We'll see what happens on raceday.

Showing off a female Indy 500 driver really doesn't mean anything anymore. Maybe 10 or 20 years ago that would have been huge. But you know what? Indy 500 has a hard enough time finding enough drivers to fill the entire field for the race. So having a female racer isn't exactly some amazing achievement in itself. Maybe she's a great driver & that's wonderful, but having the spotlight for the Indy 500? Mostly a push for ratings by the marketting people.

Yeah, because all aspiring racers long for your acceptance... right. Your fvcking opinion doesn't mean sh!t, and whether you "accept" her or anyone else I'm sure they could give a flying fvck. As soon as you prove yourself in their company on their tracks in their cars, then I'm sure they'll accept you, too.

I love all the elitist fvckshits around here who think they're so fvcking special, that everyone should give a sh!t what they think about anything.

All I'm saying is that she's an unproven quantity and should have to prove herself just like every other rookie. It's widely accepted in racing that driving road courses is much more difficult than driving ovals. She's clearly good, or else she wouldn't have gotten where she is, but whether she's worth all this fanfare remains to be seen.

The simple fact here is that she's getting press only because she's female. Nobody knows if she's any good and if there were an identically talented male rookie instead of her, nobody would have heard of him.

Oh, and shove it up your ass and die. But you probably enjoy having things shoved up your ass.

Your wife offered that deviant sh!t to me 2 nights ago, but I told her to keep that sick sh!t between her and you. She didn't mind the teabagging, though, and I complimented her on her amazing flexibility.

If I had a wife, that might, just might, induce me to give half a thought to your existance.
