It seems like my dog (borderline puppy at the age of 6mo) urinates in protest. Is this normal and has anyone broken such a habit?

Almost every time after we bathe her (she hates water), she urinates somewhere. More recently, we made the mistake of letting her sleep on our bed with us one night. (I kind of dozed off before taking her to her crate). We've been trying to reinforce the fact that she should sleep in her crate or at least outside of the bedroom by picking her up off the bed and putting her in her crate. Usually, we catch her after she's found a comfy spot and is drowsy. Last night, I picked her up almost prematurely. I caught her jumping onto the vacant bed and brought her back out. Moments later, she snuck back into the bedroom and I saw her on the bed and a nice wet spot in front of her. The urine didn't get to the actual mattress because we caught it so quickly, but I don't want to chance it seeping in. Thoughts?

My dog sometimes lets out a little squirt when he's really happy, like when I come home and stuff. Maybe you should house break her so she pees outside no matter what?

over excited perhaps. make sure to let the puppy walk around a bit outside a bit after a bath if it seems to want to pee after.

it happened a couple times, but ours grew out of it.

I've had a cat "hold a grudge" and pee on my clothes (that were left on the floor beside the bed overnight). Can't recall a dog doing that though.

I had a full grown dobie who usually traveled with me in the car. One time of the times he couldn't go, I found a giant turd on my bed when I returned. He got his nose put close to it and smacked but not too hard since it was very rare.

Just about any puppy behavior is normal. What isn't normal is to allow anti-social behavior to continue. The human is the master/mistress. This doesn't mean you have to be a tyrant but you need to be firm and consistent. Just to make sure, explain this to a vet and have it checked for physical deformities.

One of my dogs when she was ten months would do it in front of me. It was dominant move and she was trying to test me. I put her in her place and no problems since.

Never had that happen but we don't do anything to make our dog angry. She spends most of the time outside laying around though. And we rarely bathe her, we let the groomer do that.

Dogs don't protest or do anything out of spite.

You dog is either over excited or nervous. If you are crating then crate the dog. Shut the door. The dog is getting confused because you aren't provides a consistent message.

My brothers dog pisses on my other brother (who neutered him) every time he goes to the house. He will literally walk up to him, lift his leg, and piss on him. The dog is 100% housebroken otherwise.

Yeah, dogs can be spiteful bastards. But I'd pee on you too if you cut my balls off.
