So just make it welfare then, and punish those who actually saved for retirement? No thanks. Why do liberals hate people who make smart choices?
And now you want to punish me for saving money for retirement by taking away the ~$150K I've paid into SS so far?
This is why I don't vote for Democrats.
Hey, either you get taxed or you can vote to tax the rich but the debt needed to be dealt with. Voting for Republicans hasn't worked out too well, all that war and debt and economic destruction. Republicans love it, brag about it, and are ready to do it again!

1. You get already get 100% deduction for qualified expenses which I say are pretty generous. Maybe I'm misunderstanding....
2. You already get 100% tax deduction for any level of employee, pay them 50 million it's an expense totally tax deductible.

Really? My Republican boss, a small business owner, used to rant up and down about being taxed twice on salary.

In that case, we're not taxing corporations nearly enough! Make it, say, 75% deduction for qualified business expenses bought in the USA (so employees are cheaper), with 100% deduction for employees in the USA only up to that GS-15 salary I mentioned. I'd also eliminate any charitable giving deduction to charities outside the USA, and maybe to charities inside it as well. I mean, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute worked out OK, but mostly they're just tax shelters.

Obama debt?

Republicans control the house now, legislation originates there, so its now Republican debt.

Considering they want to pass expensive tax cuts and leave defense, SS, and medicare intact, lets all prepare for another Republican-fueled sea of red ink and high unemployment and relive the GWB glory days.

So how many trillions will they raise the debt ceiling before 2012?

Be careful what you wish for douchebags! HAHAAHAA

Since 'Tea Party' callout threads are all the rage, I thought maybe one calling out the party who has been in complete 100% control of the government for the past 2 years (Other than the supreme court I guess) how they plan on dealing with the debt? So far what we've seen from Obama and crew is:

1. Blame Bush.
2. Say its 'hard work' fixing the economy and that we should be patient.
3. Spend 3 times as much.

Is it really a surprise you are going to get your asses handed to you tomorrow? Everyone is demanding answers from a 'party' thats not even a party and at best will have a few dozen members in congress in a few months but you are demanding nothing from the current sitting government which your party controls completely.

What are you answers? Blame the Tea Baggers? Continue to blame Bush? Quadruple spending? Blame the Jews?

:colbert:

The Democrats have hundreds of members and complete control in congress, the senate, and of course the POTUS yet you demand answers from a couple dozen people running with 'TEA' before their names?

Everyone likes to blame someone, but the Recession was in effect even before Obama took office, its just that no one saw it coming.

Bush was president for 8 years during a surplus and now Obama has been in office for 2 years during a recession. The recession was the perfect storm in the making for several years even before Obama took office. I still remember when Obama was in office for only a month and people were hounding him.

Just as Clinton said "Try to stand in front of a locomotive going downhill at 200mph and stop it in 10 seconds". Our debt is now out of control, but has it helped jobs? Who knows, but the alternative is that without the stimulus, we may have a jobless rate that is several times what it is now. There's really no winning.

The republicans now have the majority, but guess what? Nothing is going to change overnight, we'll still be in a recession whether the dems have 100% control or the repubs having 100% control. The question is who could do the job better, that, we'll probably never know.

Republicans will have the majority of ONE branch of government 2 months from now. The Democrats still hold the majority of 2, and perhaps the most important one the POTUS.

If you are going to be a douchebag yourself, at least realize that its 2 months before any person voted in yesterday takes office.

I never said I was too happy with the GOP either. I usually vote third party.

Debt is not a single party issue... The debt we have now w\ our current debt it's near impossible to pay off. Maybe if we weren't paying a large percentage of every dollar printed in interest we'd be doing a little better.

don't send 500billion dollars to banks overseas.

Don't give the federal reserve unlimited power and authority over our american economy.

Possibly end the federal reserve and have our currency be an in house matter under control of the government that is elected by the people and for the people...
and not be controlled by some elitist goons who refuse to answer questions about what they do with our money and where it goes.

What is it with the idiots that want to keep increasing the retirement age? Some people would like to retire before they are dead. A lot of people die in their 50's. So if you cut the military, what happens next time we are attacked and cant defend ourselves? I am all for wrapping up Iraq and Afghanistan. As far as I am concerned we should pull all troops out of Europe and Asia. Let the world defend itself. Then if they want our help they should pay us cash on the barrell-head on demand. Let Europe Pay up or shut up.

Typical liberal response. You don't expect people to work for the first 20 years of their life and now you don't expect them to work for the last 20 years as well? So basically you want 40-50 years of people not working when their life is only 80-90 years long? If you exclude infant mortality, the average life really is in the 80-90 range.

Some people would like to retire before they are dead. A lot of people die in their 50's.
So now we're supposed to let you retire early just in case you die in a car crash? This makes sense o_O

So if you cut the military, what happens next time we are attacked and cant defend ourselves?
Do you remember the whole point of building up nuclear arms? It was so you don't need to have a standing army. If North Korea pulls some shit, 200 nuclear warheads go flying and the war is over.

Nobody WANTS to work longer, but with the average lifespan now into the 80's, there isn't enough money coming in to fund 20 years of Social Security for a retiree. Remember, when Social Security was instituted, the retirement age was 65 and the average lifespan was 67. And at that time you had 8 people paying into the system for every person that was receiving benefits. Now it's two workers paying in per benefit recipient.

There isn't enough money to leave things the way they are with SS. Something has to give. They are already playing games by using an inflation figure that heavily understates the real rate of inflation so cost-of-living benefit increases are either zero or very small.

First, the Dems would have to realize that excessive debt is a problem.
