It must be a full moon or something. I could have sworn I just got to work and here it is 11:30 already. I'm already stressed out from working 2 jobs and the boss is on jury duty this week. After a plethora of silly issues this morning, a user comes up and says I installed McAfee security center and now my computer won't work. WTF do you mean your computer doesn't WORK???? Thanks for the details. I mean does it come on at ALL? Can you login? Help me out here! Anywhoo, I go over to the computer and it boots into windows and then freezes. Trying to plaster a smile on my face and keep from strangling the sh!t outta him, I tell him to NEVER install anything like that on his machine again. Two antivrus programs on one machine = TROUBLE = more work for me!! User:"Well I needed the firewall capabilities." NO you don't! You have fvcking Windows XP Service Pack 2's firewall. WE have a company firewall. The only reason I can think of is that he wants to make my life a living hell. The next person that comes to my cubicle with a computer problem today is going to feel my wrath! That is all. :|

You suck. Your job is to help stupid people fix their computers, and yet you complain when you are called upon to do your job. If they hadn't borked their machine, you would have just sat here nefing for another hour.

Hummm....hate to say this, but is it your job to fix computer problems? I know, been there, done that (deal with moronic users) but if you are an IT tech, you have to suck it up and fix it.

BTW, where is my coffee cup holder on the computer, a friend told me there is one..and last but not least, can you help me install some Apple software on this computer?

No..see thats the bad thing. My boss runs the place. Everybody has local admin rights. He is thinking about changing that but it's been that way always. It's his call...If it were up to me then I would never give them admin rights. However he's afraid to put his foot down on anything. He makes the big bucks..I do all the work...he lets them do whatever they want because I'm the one that has to fix it anyway...Oooh..speak of the devil...the user in question just walked by...<300MDemon grabs pair of scissors and tip toes off with a sly grin>;)

Gotta love the generic "it doesn't work" problems. I used to work as a lead developer for a web portal application and once in a while when the page takes 5 seconds to load instead of 1 we get somebody calling and saying that "the site is down". Many times I had to bite my lips not to respond by saying "it's you, who's down, the site is just fine"
