For believers... How far off do you guess we are from the second coming of Christ?

With all of the earthquakes happening, I'm starting to believe everyone that says "soon".

I love hearing about all of the "coincidences" that are happening with Bible prophecy. Anybody else have any besides the aforementioned earthquakes?

This is intriguing!

The real question is how long before this thread falls apart to trolls and flamebaiters. :)

On the actual question, I don't think for a while.

I could have sworn that this thread title said "the second coming of china" I had to click just to see what it ment (cause I couldn't remember what the first coming of china was...). Better adjust my contacts :p
Earthquakes haven't been all that common, I'd say we're right on track as far as natural disasters go.

Nah, I labeled it clear enough that I think it'll just be for believers.

::crosses fingers::

I'm fascinated by it though, so I just had to ask.

If I had to guess myself, I'd say (wildly) around 10-50 years.

I think within my lifetime. I know that may sound a bit selfish, but revelations says that when the nation of Isreal is reformed, it will be in that generation. As far as I know, that happened in 1948. The temple is being rebuilt right now. There a WAY more people looking for the arc of the covenant than there ever have been, israel is in a position that someone could sign a 7 year treaty with them. Random acts of violence are becoming more common. Last year in the US there were like >100 Tornado's on the FIRST day of tornado season, usually there are like maybe 5. Also, think of this, The bible says something (Can't remember exactly what) about the lost city of Atlantis being found. I know it's a MAJOR stretch, but what if that relates to the Disney movie? I know, it's wierd, but you never know......

that thing about atlantis seems a little bit out there. From what I remember from a documentary the story of antlantis is based on a city that was destroyed in a volcano eruption a long time ago, possibly involved somehow with pompei (not sure about that bit though) If anyone wants to correct my vague recollection please do.

But, time till this thread degenerates into mocking and bashing is much, much sooner ;)

I agree, it's a bit out there, but the bible does say that God will do things "to confound the wise".

I'm a believer, but for some reason, I don't think it will be in my lifetime -- probably in a hundred years or so, though. As bad as it is, the world has a long ways to go before it is as degenerate as described in the Good Book.

But then again, I could be wrong.

It'll come when you least expect it. So there is really no way of knowing and that's why I won't venture a guess cuz I know I'd be wrong.

well, first off, i believe in God, but not the Bible, that being said, things were carried out in Jesus' name, he didnt carry them out personally.

Also, it is quite hard to decipher the bible since it was written 2000 years ago, and then retranslated so many times. I am positive many things were lost in all of the translations.

I'm not a religious person by any means, but about a year and some odd months ago, I was starting to get a wee bit paranoid.

There was an incredibly nasty flu going around pretty much all of north america, killing several hundred, there were several severe earthquakes over in East Asia, a volcano errupted very violently somewhere in the south pacific, and tensions were really starting to rise in the Middle East.

My interest was piqued to say the least. I know things like this happen all of the time, but there were just a lot things that went very bad in a matter of couple weeks across the globe.

If Jesus did show up again today, he wouldn't get anywhere. Anyone claiming to be the Messiah would either be laughed at or institutionalized.

I have a hard time believing some of you are believers with some of these comments (esp. the last post). I thought I labeled it clearly enough in the title "For believers". ie. Only wanting believers to respond.

The new Messiah did already come on earth. They've locked him up in a madhouse somewhere, though.

Oh and Chad, to expect only 'believers' to come in this thread is very naive of you ;)

I agree with Optimus that we can't and will never known the time the Messiah comes. Same counts for all other religions which claim that their Messiah will come some time. Which Messiah will come? The Christian one? The one of the Islam? Or maybe the Messiah of another religion?

Simply put: we know absolutely nothing.
