i just get a kick out of all the high end hardware for sale that's "never been overclocked". they provide cpu stepping numbers an such and usually have an "unused" factory hsf that comes with it but "nope, never tried to see how high it'll go". and then there's the video cards that are supposed to o/c up to ultra and pe speeds but "no, i've never tried it" eventhough it comes with a waterblock already on it 😀 . not to start a flame fest or anything and i can't say i'm absolutely free from this. just poking fun.

btw, don't pay attention to my rig in my sig. that's just bs..... 😉

I don't know. I haven't done any O/C'ing in a long time, just because 50mhz on 2000 isn't a big deal to me.

I know the stepping of my CPU and the mobo chipset but I have NEVER overclocked this system. Now, my video card has never seen a day at stock speed...

You are probably right about many of the sellers but not all of them.

Yup, it isn't worth it to me anymore. Back when I could get a 1.2 to a 1.5 is made a small difference, but since then there is no reason. I can do everything I want to do (at the moment) with a 2.0 on my main box.

many people are content with the performance their current hardware pushes(much of the time, the CPU or GPU isn't a bottleneck), but are aware that not everyone shares that view, ergo, such information like stepping and cooling solutions mounted would be pertinent.
