For anyone that has ever taken the Canadian Securities Course

I am enrolled in the CSC and noticed something in one of the FAQ's section:

How long does the result for my CSC course remain valid?

The CSC course remains valid for three years from the date of completion. If you are not registered within that time frame and want to seek employment that requires licensing after your three years are up, the regulatory body would likely require you to rewrite the exams.

What does "If you are not registered" mean?

With who or what am I supposed to register with after completing this course?

Is this just to become an IA with whatever company you get a job with?

IIRC it means that you need to be employed by a firm that requires the securities license.

Register with the Securities commission and pay your dues? That would be my guess.

Pretty sure it means if you want to become an IA you need to register with the IDA within 3 years, which entails getting a job at a member firm and going through all of the required training (compliance and whatnot).

I took the CSC about 10 years ago, so I'm just going off a foggy memory here.
