If a person is interested in gaming then buying a FX5200 or R9200 or any budget video card is a waste of money. However not everyone is into gaming and the FX5200 is ideal for people like that. Remember that there will also be DX9 software which isn't game related!

I forgot about it. True. Next microsoft's OS is going to require DX9 capabilities, isn't it?

9100 should be faster on some games, and the 9000P is basically tied in plain rendering. ATi parts should be faster with AF but slower with AA. I value AF more than AA, though, so that may bias me toward the 9100 that I own simply bacause AA isn't an issue for me at this price point.Originally posted by: Genx87
9000/9100/9200 better than the 5200? ROTFLMAO!
Sure, you try running trilinear AF on your 5200 and see how smoothly it runs. nV's and ATi's AF hijinks in UT2K3 should be a clear example of how trilinear is still too costly with AF.Nice Af implementation lololololol

If owning a DX9 card is still an issue for you in 2005, you REALLY need to upgrade.
