isn't it ironic, the ones that tip the most are the easiest to serve? It's always the idiot trash who seem to think 5% is a gift bestowed upon you from the gods in return for your excellent service.

More like a self-fulfilling prophecy, where you're nicer to the ones that you think will tip the most, and--surprise surprise--they do!

Notice you conveniently snipped the second half of my statement out, which completely takes the air out of your argument. Although you forgot to snip out the part "for excellent service" in the first statement as well. nice try though.

There's no prophecy here, as "the ones I think tip the most" will sometimes end up tipping the least. This is why excellent service should be offered to everyone, regardless of what you "think" someone will tip.

The audacity this guy has, posting about how people bring their beloved family members to place that they consider has a family atmosphere and you are right there starring and thinking of how you can hit it on with their daughters and sisters! And you post about this and you stamp your name and pic and you think this all sounds OK? Have you no shame? What if someone that knows you stumbles across that page, or a customer reads that page?
Listen smart ass (OP), you are a server and your job is to serve people with what they order no ifs and buts, even if you know ahead of time you will not be receiving a single dime and regardless if they are mean, they have no obligation to kiss your ass, they are not expecting any tips from you. You are being paid an hourly rate of $ x.xx to get people what they want, anything you bring to your pocket comes from how smart you are as a person.

You keep feeding that rage inside you with contempt and we will fast forward 10 years and you are still nothing but a waiter at a restaurant still complaining about the same crap, I know a student I met in college lonmg time ago a smart and very polite guy, he's a part-time waiter at a nice local restaurant, he gets mad tips, no kidding that guy gets anywhere from $80 - $120 a night purely from tips, do you know why? Because he is smart, he knows that people usually come to a restaurant because they don't feel like eating in, because they want to have something special, because they want to spend better times there together, ...many reasons, now you can help them make that night a more relaxing night and they will reward you beyond what you expect, not only with tips, but they will even tell their friends and relatives to get you to be their server when they go to the same place to eat.

Any smart waiter knows that each place has it's regulars, know their names, know how they like things done and you have hit the jackpot.

Or you can ignore all of this useful info and keep being grumpy about things and I'll see you in 10 years.
