The treasure accumulation of the Three Bodies and the Four Wisdoms is taken away, and the miraculous realms of the Six Supernatural Powers and Three Insights is transcended.

That is why it is called a paradox. Logic cannot answer the question. Clapping is the sound made by two objects striking together. Using one hand voids this statement and thus cannot be answered. That is why enlightenment supercedes what rational though can answer. If you "ponder" this long enough then you will see the way around this.

Personally, i think it gave the monks something to think about other then chicky-poos.
